Barbara lived in the South Jersey area her whole life until 2004. In 2004, she moved to Dallas, Oregon to be near her daughter Leeann, son-in-law Kevin, grandson's Jakob and Noah Tarter. She had the best time watching them grow into men and had a very close relationship with them. One of her favorite things to do was to come over to our house to watch Sunday football. Barbara loved going to the Jersey shore. She started going there as a young child and continued that tradition with her kids and grandkids. Diana Lynn Gross

December 21, 1946 - February 7, 2026

Diana Lynn Gross, 79, passed away February 7, 2026, in Salem, Oregon. She was born December 21, 1946, in Bremerton, Washington, daughter of Helen and Marvin Shillington, one of four siblings. Diana graduated from High School in Sacramento, California, and later graduated from beauty school (that's what she would call it) in Longview, Washington. She spent much of her childhood in Newport, Oregon, and the Oregon Coast remained her favorite place her whole life.

As a young adult, while Diana was attending beauty school, a fellow classmate suggested she start writing letters to her brother-in-law, Jimmie Free, who was serving in the Vietnam War. The pair wrote letters back and forth and when Jimmie returned home in 1966, they got married five months later. The couple went on to have three daughters and were married for 19 years before divorcing in 1986.

Diana loved being a mother and homemaker. She was well-known for her famous homemade mac and cheese, and she was a dedicated canner - preserving cherries, peaches, pears, tomatoes and green beans every fall. She taught her daughters as well and passed along her canning equipment to them when she no longer used it. Her domestic skills extended to sewing, and she handmade many of her daughters' outfits. In summertime, she'd prep the family camper every Friday for long weekends at campsites around the Pacific Northwest. Diana was a fixture on the sidelines as her daughters competed in softball and track and always in the audience as they performed in band concerts. When her girls were little, she provided childcare for neighborhood children while Jimmie worked long days as a welder. As soon as the girls were all school-age, Diana went back to work as a hairstylist.

After the divorce Diana wanted to secure medical and retirement benefits, so she got a job with the State of Oregon at Fairview Training Center, a group home for developmentally disabled adults. She truly loved the individuals she cared for, delighting in planning activities for them and helping them with daily living tasks. She worked at the

same group home for 20 years, retiring in 2009 with a big retirement party to celebrate her two decades of service.

In 1990, Diana married again to Walter Thomas "Tom" Gross. The couple bought a farm in Dallas, Oregon, complete with a big garden, cows, chickens and pigs. Together, they hunted, camped, and fished for halibut and salmon. They went crabbing (her favorite food) and shared in family birthday and holiday celebrations. Their time together ended too soon, as Tom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died just two months later, in 1995.

After Tom's passing, Diana sold the farm in Dallas and returned to live in Salem, closer to family and her employment.

In the last years of Diana's life, when at home to keep herself busy, Diana spent a lot of time embroidering hand towels she would give to just about everyone she knew, including her favorite waitress at a restaurant where she was a regular. Some towels were charming, with holly hobby girls and days of the week embroidered on them, and some were sassy, with sayings like, "Unless you fell off the treadmill, no one wants to hear about your workout," or, "Your opinion was not a part of the recipe."

Throughout her life, she was happiest when she was spending time with her family, including her brothers and their families and her children and their families.

Diana is survived by her three daughters: Ronda Cowlishaw, Amy Bouie (Terry Bouie), and Tyna Moreschi; six grandchildren: Brandon, Nicholas and Jonathan Brink, Joshua Gall (Jess), Trenton Dykstra, and Gabriella Moreschi; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thomas Gross, sister Nancy Laulainen (Reher), brothers Tom and Don Shillington, and grandson Hunter Dykstra.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Darian's Gift, dariansgift.org, a children's cancer foundation. A celebration of life will be held at an open house at her daughter, Amy Bouie's home in Salem, from 1 to 4 p.m. on February 28.

Tammy Senner

Tammy Ruby Senner passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2026, in Keizer, Oregon, at the age of 61.

Tammy was a devoted mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of those around her with compassion and warmth. Celebrating the Life of Merle Jonathan Hood

January 24, 1952 - January 31, 2026

Merle Jonathan Hood, a man whose life was defined by steady hands, a servant's heart, and a

legendary collection of "Dad jokes", passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon, on January

31, 2026. He was 74 years old.

A Foundation of Faith and Family

Born in Salem, Oregon, to Donald and Faye Hood, Merle grew up with the values of hard work,

community, and a deep appreciation for the area where he was raised. After graduating from

Gervais Union High School and spending a formative year at Judson Bible College, Merle

married the love of his life, Susan, in 1974.

Together, Merle and Susan built a beautiful 51-year legacy. Their marriage was a testimony to

God's love, producing two children, Megan and Caleb, two grandchildren, and one

great-grandchild- all of whom were the absolute pride of Merle's life.

A Craftsman with a Servant's Heart

Merle was rarely found with idle hands. Whether he was cycling the local bike paths,

maintaining his signature 1965 Volvo (the "Red Sled"), or providing the family with unsolicited

(but always accurate) weather updates, he moved through life with purpose.

His true love-language was spoken in his workshop. A gifted woodworker, Merle's craftsmanship

lives on in the homes of nearly everyone he knew. To own a piece made or repaired by Merle

was to own a piece of his heart.

A Life of Quiet Generosity

In his retirement, Merle enjoyed serving others. He was the man who:

● Always had his pickup truck gassed up and ready to help anyone moving into a new

home.

● Was often seen mowing a neighbor's lawn just because it needed doing.

● Would drop everything at a moment's notice, the second a family member called for

help.

His faith was not just something he spoke about; it was something he did. He loved God by

loving his family, his church, and his community exceptionally well.

Merle's warmth, his steady presence, and his ability to fix just about anything (except perhaps a

bad pun) will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Merle is preceded in death by his brother, Milo Hood. He is survived by his two sisters, Marilyn

(Center) and Melinda (Lane), his wife Sue, his daughter, Megan, his son Caleb, his 2

granddaughters, and his great-grandson.

Merle's memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 am at Dayspring

Fellowship in Keizer, OR. In place of flowers, donations can be made to Dayspring Fellowship

in Keizer, OR, to support building projects in the Dominican Republic.

Jeanette Wickman

Jeanette Scheidel was born on November 6, 1931 in Gibbon Nebraska to Harvey and Alma Scheidel, where she lived along with her younger brother Edward. In 1943 her family moved to Salem, Oregon where she would later attend Salem High School. It was at that time that she met Robert Wickman who would later become her husband. During the summer months she picked hops as well as other seasonal crops. After graduating high school in 1949, she worked at Master Bread in Salem, Oregon.

She attended Oregon State University where she studied bookkeeping. She married Robert Wickman in March 1955 and together they had three children. Kari Williams (Dan deceased), a retired registered nurse, Kevin (Karla), a retired deputy fire chief, Kris (Pam), a retired police detective. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in March of last year.

Jeanette spent several years working at family owned Four Corners JarHead where she kept the books and assisted in the retail business. She later worked for the State of Oregon at the Department of Motor Vehicles until she retired. After retirement she volunteered at Cummings Elementary School and later at the Oregon State Capital gift shop.

Jeanette briefly lived in Salem, until shortly after marriage moving to Keizer, where they raised their family. They lived in the same house for more than 60 years before moving to an assisted living apartment also in Keizer. She enjoyed needle point, reading to her grandchildren, gardening and canning various fruits and vegetables.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law and a grandson. She is survived by her brother, three children, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery along side Robert who was a veteran of the Korean war. We will be planning a celebration of her life at a later date in the Salem/Keizer area.

Bryce Noah Dragon Weimer

Bryce Noah Dragon Weimer passed away after a two week long battle after fighting the flu and pneumonia. He was born November 28th, 2011, in Salem, Oregon.

Bryce is survived by his mother Lana, his father Ryan, and his siblings, Keaton, Thatcher, Parker, Tyler, Ryleigh, and Brayden. Bryce now watches over all of us along with his siblings, Eston and Addi.

Bryce's middle name "Dragon" was coined by Keaton. He came up with the idea that Dragon would make a great baby name, so Bryce was dubbed "Baby Dragon."

Bryce was an excellent young man. He loved hanging out with his family, whether that was watching shows and movies like Black Clover, DANTDM, and Marvel, or playing games like Roblox, Trailmakers, Minecraft, and Terraria. No matter what Bryce was doing, he was always surrounded by family. Even though he was challenged by physical limitations due to his spinal muscular atrophy, he didn't let it stop him from doing the things he loved. He got to have so many cool experiences in life. He was able to be a Guardian from Guardians of the Galaxy, cosplay as Sasori at Comicon, go skiing, kayaking, and go to camp each year and hang out with his friends. He was and is loved by so many people. Bryce will always be remembered for his way of making his family laugh with his witty and sarcastic sense of humor, his love for all things penguins, and his fondness for cheese.

Bryce was a blessing, and though he was only on Earth for 14 beautiful years, he has had such an impact on the people around him. He showed how to be resilient even when the odds were against him and to do it with a smile on his face. He showed how to be calm even in the worst situations.

Heaven has gained such an amazing and kind soul that shines as beautifully as gold.

Even in his last few days, Bryce wasn't worried or scared. He knew Heavenly Father had a plan for him and had full faith in His plan. While he will be missed here on Earth, we know he is running and playing in Heaven alongside Addi and Eston, and is surrounded by the love of his family and Heavenly Father.

He diligently continued his studies and graduated from Central High School in 1968. January 1969 saw him as a private in the Army.
