📝🌟TESTIMONY TUESDAY🌟📝
Today we have a review hot off the press! RTS patient, Janet, reached out to management and our social media team with the desire to express her wonderful experience with RTS Haslet to the masses!
Hearing directly from patients about their experience and progress is the greatest affirmation of the care our team strives to provide every day.
Janet, thank you for trusting RTS with your care and for taking the time to share your experience. We are honored to be part of your journey.
“Journeys start in all sorts of ways and fashions…this part of my journey happened in 2017 when I had what I thought was a minor accident with my dog. I didn’t appear to have broken anything, just lots of bruises or so I thought. After a week or so, I went to my Orthopedic Doctor to find out that I did have some issues. My first knee surgery in April of 2017. I had both my knees cleaned out at the same time. Then when to rehab. My left knee handled all that well, but my right knee never fully recovered. Over the next 8 years, I had injections in my right knee of various kinds. I also had acupuncture done on my knee when the injections stopped working as long. Finally, I had had enough and on June 25th, 2025, I had a total knee replacement in my right knee. I prepared best I could for that, but I have some special medical issues and am not able to take certain medications like others can. Let me be clear, the pain I had before I had surgery was gone the day I had surgery. The pain from surgery was less AND was temporary. I started in home physical therapy for 3 weeks and then transitioned to outpatient with the RTS in Haslet, TX as it was less than a half mile away from my house. For the first few months I was driven but in August, I started driving myself. A milestone. However, my recovery was not mine alone. I call these folks my dream team. Why? Because I never thought this knee pain would ever be able to be fixed. I never thought I would be able to snorkel, scuba drive, ride my bike or even play pool without knee pain in my life. My wonderful surgeon, Dr. Schrayer and his wonderful MA, Isabelle, and the real heroes of my recovery journey, my PT Team. The ones that saw me 5 days a week from July till December 24th, 2025. The ones that saw me try my best, be happy, sad, get nervous and cry due to good and bad days. The ones that saw me through a second knee procedure, The ones that kept reminding me that this is temporary. The ones that keep reminding me that this time next year all this will be a distant memory. The ones that never let me give up. Who are these wonderful people, the Physical Therapy Team of RTS Haslet, Texas: Dr. Alex, Dr. Peter, PTA Daniel, my Techs: Meloney, Sydney, Lalo, Kayla, Alyssa, the wonderful Office Coordinators, Barbara and Kristian, (forgive me if I missed someone). I still see them a few times a week, my recovery is almost done, home stretch now. I have yet to find the words to express my gratitude for my pain free knee. Life is better than ever because of this journey. Thank you!!!
With heart felt gratitude
Janet G.”
