We recently partnered with Duplin Health Science Academy students to bring the Teddy Bear Clinic back to Duplin County at B.F. Grady Elementary School.

Kindergarten students adopted and named their own teddy bears before taking them through a pretend hospital visit, starting with triage and continuing through a variety of departments and checkout. This experience helps make health care feel fun, familiar and less scary.

Thank you to the team members and students who made this day special, one teddy bear at a time.

ECU Health Duplin Hospital is grateful to Chinquapin Elementary School’s Elementary and Junior BETA Clubs for their generosity and compassion.

The students recently held their fourth annual “Stuffed with Love from Layla” toy drive, collecting more than 200 items, including stuffed animals, assorted toys, youth and adult activity books and writing utensils. The drive honors the memory of Layla, a local child remembered for the joy and love she shared with others.

Each donated item included a message sharing love, comfort and hope, with a wish to pass along the joy Layla brought during her life.

These meaningful donations will be shared with patients, helping bring comfort and smiles to those receiving care.

ECU Health Duplin Hospital team members had a great time connecting with local high school students at Career Day at the Duplin Events Center.

From sharing real‑life job experiences to answering curious questions, the day was all about showing students the many paths that lead to a career in health care—right here at home.

We’re proud to inspire the next generation! To explore careers at ECU Health, visit: https://go.ecuhealth.org/4tmU8Cj.
