MYTH BUSTING? No pain, no gain
This seems to be the war cry in many gyms. Usually espoused by big muscled bros. Pushing yourself and testing your limits is fine. But needing to feel the pain to ensure a decent workout is not needed. Dr. Brian Parr, Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise and Sports Science at the University of South Carolina Aiken, sums it up:

“The idea that exercise should hurt is simply wrong — muscle pain during or following exercise usually suggests an injury.”
This myth has been debunked many times, including by the best in the business MythBusters.

Health experts advise that your workout should be challenging, but you should stop as soon as you experience pain.

“I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments?” Grief is a vehicle which takes you into the darkest moments, whether you want to face them or not, and it is up to you whether to engage or avoid. If you were in conversation with grief what would you ask? What would you be curious about? Grief shows up in ways that we cannot imagine. It likes to grab you, hold you, and sometimes, if you’re not careful, keep you in its grip. Yes, when you meet grief, identify it as grief; you have ...

POWER POSE FACT - Tony Robbins submits that if you want to be a leader and create massive change in your life, you must put PHYSIOLOGY first. Why? Because EMOTION is created by MOTION, and the way you move will determine the way you feel! Shifting your state can be simple. Harvard Business School did a study proving that just 2 minutes in a "power pose" (think Wonder Woman or Superman – standing tall, chest out, head up) can have a radical impact on your biochemistry. In the group they sampled, testosterone increased 20%, cortisol (stress hormone) levels decreased 25% and risk tolerance increased 33%. Try it a few times today and see how you feel!
