Karen Lynn (Krause) Seitz, age 69, of Kendallville, passed away November 5, 2025, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Karen was born in Jackson, Michigan, on October 15, 1956, to the late Edward and Dorothy Krause. She married Daniel Joseph Seitz on June 14, 1992, in Stateline, Arizona.

Reading all the comments posted about Karen's passing, the one theme that seems to be the most stated was about her sense of humor. Karen had a dry wit that became infectious among all of her friends. But there was a much deeper side to Karen. She was so loving, caring and kind and it showed with all of those she loved and those who loved her. After moving to Indiana, she found her perfect career as a counselor for Wise Choices and case manager with Northeastern Center. she touched her clients so much so that when she would run into them years later they would always tell her how much she did for them.

For those of us she left behind, we can all still smile just a little behind our grief because of her gift of laughter. I could make a list of her accomplishments but those aren't the memories we need to hold on to. Karen's smile and her loving heart are the best memories. R.I.P. Karen.

Survivors include:
Husband, Dan Seitz of Kendallville.
Son, Casey and Gabrielle Seitz of Kendallville.
Grandchildren, Xander Wilcox, Raylan Monroe, and Cassandra Seitz.
Extended family, Tasha and Tyler Woodward of Avilla.
Brother, Kurt and Judy Krause of Prescot, Arizona.
Brother, Karl and Patricia Krause of Boiling Spring, South Carolina.
Brother, Kevin and Beer Krause of Kendallville.

Kenneth R. Palmer, known affectionately as Ken to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Butler, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 21, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, Ken's 90 years of life were marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and a zest for life that was truly contagious.

Ken grew up in the bustling city of Detroit and graduated from Redford Union High School in Redford, Michigan. After his education, he proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, Ken embarked on a successful career as a salesman for various parts companies, forging lasting relationships with the Big Three in the automotive industry.

His work ethic was remarkable, but it was his role as a family man that truly defined him. Ken was a beloved husband to his wife, Geraldine Palmer, and a guiding light to his children Diane (Jim), Kevin (deceased) (Kari), Karen, and Brian. As a father, he was both a mentor and a friend, instilling values of creativity, handiness, and a spirited nature in each of them. His legacy continued to flourish through his grandchildren Joshua (McKenna), Kyle, Kevin (Marie), Kristen, Melissa, Griffin, Jessie, Jennel, and Serek, as well as several great-grandchildren who will remember him for his stories and laughter.

A devout Christian, Ken's faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and comfort. His beliefs were evident in the way he lived, always striving to be an example of kindness and integrity for those around him.

Upon retirement, Ken fulfilled a lifelong dream and relocated to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where the sun shone on his favorite pastime: golf. There, he could often be found on the greens, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golf enthusiasts. Ken's love for the game was matched only by his creative flair, which he expressed through various projects and endeavors, always eager to put his handyman skills to good use.

Ken's spirited personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His creative solutions, handy work around the house, and boundless energy were a source of inspiration. His laughter was infectious, his stories captivating, and his presence a comfort to all.

As we remember Kenneth R. Palmer, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by love, service, and joy. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ken's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those he touched. His journey on earth may have concluded, but his spirit continues to shine brightly, guiding us with the lessons he imparted and the love he shared.

Robert Claire Tuffley, age 76, lost on the last lotto ticket he ever scratched. He passed away under the loving care of his family on October 28, 2025. While he may have been on the losing end of the lottery more times than not, in life, he hit the jackpot. He was born in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin before moving to Kendallville, Indiana in his early teens. Later, he was blessed with meeting his wife, Pam, and together they raised their son, Gabe.

Known for his tireless work ethic, deep love for his family, and a knack for making people laugh, Robert lived a life full of purpose, loyalty, and laughter. He spent his entire career in the foundry, priding himself on learning all aspects of the process and sharing his knowledge with others. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and coaching youth sports. Whether he was cheering from the bleachers or offering sideline wisdom (solicited or not), he was always his son’s and grandkids’ biggest fan.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, who somehow managed to keep him in line, well-fed, and out of trouble (mostly). His legacy lives on through his son and daughter-in-law, Deidra, and his grandchildren: Chandler and Matthew Crable, Corie and Connor Marks, and Hayden Jones and four great grandchildren. Their long-standing family rule was: “Don’t listen to Grandpa Bob.” as he often encouraged mischievous behavior that was borderline naughty—and usually hilarious. We now hope they break that rule. Instead, they should follow his example: work hard, love fiercely, and always show up (preferably with lottos).

Robert is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Cox and Janis Engerman; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jan Coleman, Hal and Robyn Miller, Dawn and Steve McCreery, Sherley Miller, Scott and Laurie Miller; Mike Cox, Sharon Tuffley, Melissa Tuffley, David Jones and former daughter-in-law Daphne Jones. He and Pam also share a lively crew of nieces and nephews who will miss his stories, his charm, and his ability to have fun—even if it meant being the punchline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Monna Tuffley; and his brothers, Ronnie and Charles Tuffley; and brothers-in-law, Kim Miller and John Engerman, who we imagine greeted him with open arms.

Robert’s life was a reminder that you don’t need to win the lottery to be rich in all the ways that matter. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend—and he was really, really good at it.

Funeral services will be private.

10/20/2025

Marilyn June “Muffy” Edwards passed into the hands of her Lord Jesus Christ on October 17, 2025. She drew on every ounce of life energy available to her to spend a few, final days enjoying family and friends—the same as family to her—before entering hospice at home on October 6, 2025. Marilyn was born to Hannah Lucille Naylor Weber and Thurlow “Tub” Weber in Wapakoneta, Ohio on April 2, 1934. She had a younger brother William “Bill” Weber and older sister Jackie Weber who preceded her in death.

Marilyn grew up in a family of restauranteurs and helped her father with the business through her teenage and early adult years until she met her future husband, Donald Edwards—the love of her life—in St. Marys, Ohio.

Marilyn and Don married in November 1965 and moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where they enjoyed making many friends who became life-long companions and played golf, tennis, and racquetball frequently.

Marilyn successfully graduated from Fort Wayne Community School of Practical Nursing in February 1980 and was licensed in Indiana as a Practical Nurse in May 1980. She served in coronary care at Parkview Regional Medical Center for 10 years—a job she loved. After Don retired in the mid 1990’s, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where she obtained her Florida nursing license in February 1995 and continued as a practical nurse for another ten years in the Heart Institute at Southwest Regional Medical Center.

In 2004, Marilyn and Don returned to Fort Wayne where Marilyn volunteered at the Fort Wayne Zoo, her favorite of all jobs. She loved the animals and the children who visited the zoo very much and became known as “the goat lady.” She kept her family and friends laughing with hilarious stories of the special, and sometimes eccentric, antics—both animal and human.

Another long-loved pleasure, Marilyn relished the monthly meetings with her luncheon friends, the Geezwads—their comical shorthand for being old geezers and tightwads. This playful sense of humor was a God-given feature of Marilyn, granting her life-long friendships she treasured to the end.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Lynn Edwards and Sherry Edwards (Ray Dingledine), 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren - the joys of her life - her niece Elisa Whetstone Williams and nephews Dave Whetstone, Jim (Julie) Weber, Scott Weber, and Mike (Angela) Weber. She is predeceased by her parents, Lucille Naylor Weber and Thurlow “Tub” Weber, her sister Jackie Whetstone, her brother William “Bill” Weber, sons Dane, Lee and Neal Edwards, grandson Josh Edwards, and nephew Joe Weber.

Marilyn held nothing but deep gratitude for the friends who loved and helped her—often at a moment’s notice—for any variety of rides and errands, especially near the end. Her family offers their heartfelt thanks as well to Parkview Hospice and Senior1Care for the caring assistance they provided.

She leaves her love for each of her family and friends with the firm reminder "for heaven’s sake, remember to laugh and treasure one another". God bless her and keep her with all our love.

In lieu of flowers, any remembrance should go to Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo at https://fwzoo.com or Blackhawk Ministries at https://blackhawkministries.org.
