First responders, please remember the chaplains at shields under fire are always here for you 24 hours a day please if you don’t reach out to us reach out to somebody.
Here locally we have lost two heroes in the last week both as a result of struggling with mental things this is what we here at shields under fire want to prevent.
One last piece of information it is more cowardly and weak to bottle everything up and keep it inside then it is to reach out and find help. Be the Hero we know you are and call us. Be here we know you are and call.

Sad times for public safety.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we publicly announce the passing of one of our own, Paramedic Shift Lead Jake Amos.
Jake had been a dedicated member of Lutheran EMS for the past ten years serving communities throughout our entire coverage area. He touched countless lives with compassion, with kindness, and unwavering commitment to all those that he served.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jake's family, friends and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest easy our dear brother Jake. We have it from here!

Always nice to see what’s new in our area. And it’s a bright spot in an otherwise sad week for our region.

Welcome to Shields Under Fire. We want to make sure that any firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMS worker, Dispatcher, Jailer, Active, Reserve or Military Veteran can receive the help they need to cope with difficult issues they may face from serving our communities and/or our country. Many times we are left to fight this fight alone, the struggles we may encounter mental, physically, spiritually and emotionally can begin to destroy us from the inside. Our mission is to make sure that any emergency worker or military member that needs support can receive the help they need. Our primary mission is to raise awareness of Emergency Worker and Military su***des by teaming up with local churches and counseling agencies to make sure that anyone who needs counseling can receive it regardless of income level or volunteer status.no one fights alone and we want to make sure that anyone who needs counseling can receive counseling regardless of financial status or being paid vs volunteer. We offer monthly meetings held at the Mongo United Methodist Church on the third Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm. These meetings are supportive in nature.
Our purpose is to assure that all of our community Emergency Workers and Military personnel can successfully cope with their past and we want to work towards lowering the su***de risk among Emergency Workers and military personnel. Our strength comes from God and bonding with our own personal experiences with tragedies.
