Motivation Monday

You don’t keep ending up in the same place by accident.

Same reactions.
Same frustration.
Same cycle.

Different situation… same pattern.

And most of the time, it’s not about what’s happening around you — it’s what’s happening in you.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart…” — Psalm 139:23

We say we’ve surrendered…
but still try to stay in control.

This week, don’t just run the pattern like you always do.

Pause.

Ask God:
“What would surrender look like right here?”

You don’t have to fix everything.

Just catch the loop… and bring it to Him.

Awareness is important.

But awareness alone doesn’t change anything.

Step 3 invites us to take the next step.

Surrender.

Tonight is Process Night at Vision Recovery.

A space to honestly identify where self is still holding the throne — and where God may be inviting us to let go.

Last month we talked about recognizing where pride was quietly leading our lives.

Step 3 goes further.

It asks a harder question:

Where do I actually need to surrender?

This Friday is Process Night.

A chance to slow down, be honest, and identify the places where self is still trying to stay in charge.

Because surrender begins with a decision.

Motivation Monday

In Joshua 3 the river didn’t stop flowing while the priests stood safely on the bank.

The water moved when their feet touched it.

That moment is such a powerful picture of how faith often works.

We want clarity first.
We want certainty first.
We want the path to open before we move.

But many times God asks us to trust Him enough to take the step before the water parts.

If God has been pressing something on your heart lately, don’t stay standing on the edge.

Sometimes the breakthrough begins the moment we move.

Last night at Vision Recovery we continued Step 3 – The Power of Surrender with a message called Off the Throne.

Sometimes the reason a pattern keeps repeating in our lives isn’t because we can’t see it.

Sometimes it’s because a part of us is still protecting it.

The Bible says, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way.” (Isaiah 53:6)

Underneath many of our struggles is something deeper than the behavior itself — the desire to stay in control.

Step 3 reminds us that surrender begins when we step down from the place we were never meant to sit and turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.

Tonight we continue Step 3 — The Power of Surrender.

Patterns rarely change just because we try harder.

Many times the real issue isn’t the habit…
it’s the throne.

The place in our lives where we still insist on being in control.

You can’t break the pattern while protecting the throne.

Tonight we continue the conversation.

Last week we began Step 3 — The Power of Surrender.

We talked about how strongholds shape the way we see things. When the lens is distorted, the same patterns keep repeating. This Friday we take the next step.

Sometimes the hardest thing to face isn’t the habit…
it’s the throne. The place where we still insist on being in control.

You can’t break the pattern while protecting the throne.

Motivation Monday

Sometimes the reason the same situations keep producing the same reactions in our lives isn’t because nothing is changing around us.

Sometimes it’s because the way we’re seeing it hasn’t changed yet.

The Bible says transformation begins with the renewing of our minds.

When God begins to change the way we think, the patterns in our lives can start to change too.

This week, slow down before reacting and ask yourself:

“Am I seeing this clearly… or am I seeing it through an old pattern?”

Sometimes clarity is the first step toward freedom.

Last night at Vision Recovery we began Step 3 - The Power of Surrender with a message called Healing the Lens.

Before patterns in our lives begin to change, we often have to confront the beliefs shaping the way we see things.

Strongholds don’t just influence behavior.
They shape perception.

And when the lens is distorted, the same patterns can keep repeating.

Tonight we begin Step 3 — The Power of Surrender.

Step 1 taught us we can’t fix ourselves.
Step 2 reminded us God can restore us.

Step 3 is where things get real.

It’s where we stop pretending control is working and start letting God change what we’ve been holding onto.

Recovery isn’t about excusing sin.
It’s about facing it honestly and choosing a different way forward.

That’s what we’re practicing together.

Step 2 helped us notice where we still lean on ourselves.

Step 3 moves us forward.

Not louder.
Not more dramatic.
Just deeper.

This month we’ll begin learning what surrender really looks like — not as weakness, but as growth.

If you’ve been walking with us, you know this isn’t about hype. It’s about honesty. A safe place to grow at a steady pace.
