Jayme Hicks (she/her/hers) is a counselor-in-training at the University of Southern Maine. She comes to her clinical work with prior experience in behavioral health, including home- and community-based support and case management. Her background continues to influence how she approaches her work with clients today.
Jayme's approach to counseling is person-centered, relational, and trauma-informed. She believes that therapy works best when people feel safe enough to show up as they are. Her goal is to create a space that feels collaborative and supportive, where clients feel heard and respected as they explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them.
Jayme is interested in working with adult clients who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, identity exploration, and the lingering effects of past experiences. She works alongside clients as they reflect on their experiences, reconnect with their strengths and values, and move toward change in ways that feel both meaningful and manageable.
Outside of her clinical work, Jayme enjoys spending time with her family, reading, baking, and listening to music. At her core, she values connection, reflection, and balance. These values naturally shape how she shows up in the therapy space.
