Health Care Reform:
Corporations, non-profits, administrators and pharmaceuticals squeeze the system dry. We need to correct a lot of things but the pharma industry has to be corrected. Here is the money flow:

1) Taxpayers fund universities to discover drugs.
2) When they do, our government GIVES them the patent (with maybe billions of $$$$$. That is called "outsourcing the risk and privatizing the rewards."
3) The university grants license to the pharmaceutical company to market the drug. where they make $$$$
4) After using our country to thrive in an atmosphere to generate $$$$, the dug company outsources medication production to other countries employing their citizens. Our people get laid off.
5) THEN, those same companies may charge a US patient $1000 for a drug and only charge someone in France (or wherever) $100. So US citizens further subsidize the company with higher $$$$.

Notice that taxpayers fund the system and get shafted down the line? Why has this been allowed to happen? In 2025, Big Pharma lobbying (AKA bribing public officials) exceeded $450 million.

Trump attempted to correct the country to country charge differential in his first term and more aggressively in his current term. Huge props to him!!! The first president to have the willingness to do that!! It is starting to make the needle move. But it is a big lift.

One thing we could do is tell your Senator or Representative in DC "If you accept any money from the pharmaceutical industry, I am not going to vote for you."
