At North Georgia Recovery Center, healing doesn’t have to feel heavy—it can be meaningful and fun 🐴💚

Our clients recently had an incredible experience visiting Hand, Hoof, and Heart, where they explored the property, toured the garden, and spent time in the petting zoo. The highlight? Getting hands-on experience with all of the amazing horses!

Clients learned about horse safety, body language, and the grooming process before stepping into the arena to lead a horse through an obstacle course. These moments aren’t just fun—they build confidence, trust, and connection in ways that traditional settings sometimes can’t. Experiences like these remind our clients that growth can happen outside the therapy room too.

We’re grateful for our clincians who are always willing to have fun alongside our clients, using those shared moments to build trust, strengthen connections, and enhance the therapeutic relationship.

At North Georgia Recovery Center, we believe recovery should be transformative — and that includes rediscovering joy. What sets us apart from other treatment facilities is our commitment to pairing solid, evidence-based clinical care with real-life experiences that remind our clients that sobriety can be fulfilling and fun.

Recovery is more than therapy sessions and treatment plans (though those are foundational and delivered with excellence). It’s also about rebuilding connection, strengthening healthy coping skills, and learning how to engage in life without substances. Outings like our recent Fun Friday at the bowling alley are intentional — designed to reinforce social skills, build confidence, and show that a sober life doesn’t mean a boring life.

We are so excited to welcome Jessi as our newest Primary Therapist at North Georgia Recovery Center. Jessi holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and brings a genuine passion for helping clients get to the root of what's holding them back so they can create real, lasting change.

Jessi is dedicated to building a therapeutic space that feels warm, supportive, and judgment free. Her commitment to walking alongside clients through addiction and recovery, supporting them toward healing, stability, and long term growth, makes her a wonderful addition to our clinical team.

We are thrilled to introduce our new Clinical Director at North Georgia Recovery Center. Tony brings over 25 years of experience in behavioral health and substance use treatment, along with advanced certifications in DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, and ADHD assessment.

His evidence-based, person-centered approach to treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders aligns perfectly with our mission of delivering compassionate, high-quality care to those we serve.
