Case of the week!

•A Father brought his 7 years old child in for consultation because he had observed that his feet turned inward while walking.
During the history he mentioned that his son had a complicated birth process. He had been wetting the bed most nights. Additionally, he exhibited a hyperactive disposition and was easily frustrated by parental instruction.
An examination and X-ray analysis revealed a misalignment in his atlas and sacrum, affecting the nerve supply to his legs and bladder.
In children, the sacrum is comprised of separate segments that have not yet been fused, making it more vulnerable to injury. Dr. Gonstead observed that a misaligned sacral segment is often associated with bedwetting.
After 2 visits of gonstead adjustments, his bed witting has resolved and he is much calmer.

The goal now is to maintain the stability of his Pelvis and keep his nervous system free of interference as he grows.

Case of the week at Gonstead!

A patient in their mid twenties came into the office suffering from periodic episodes of back spasms that would keep him bedridden for days at a time! He had a history of a severe fall on the pelvis when he was a child. The Doctors did not treat it. An examination in our office revealed L4 spondylolisthesis, which is often associated with falls that occur in childhood, when the spine is still developing.

After just 2 visits of gonstead chiropractic care the patient reported that he felt better than he had in years!

X-Rays are always a critical part of the examination process.

Movement Mondays!

This week's exercise is the hummingbird! Perfect for posture and those long days sitting in an office chair, this exercise works the smaller muscles of your back including the rhomboids and can get the blood flowing when you're feeling drained.

To do exercise, simply stand or sit tall with a straight back, squeeze your abdominal muscles, then bring your elbows to 90 degrees and make small circles. Do this 10 times in both directions a couple times throughout the day to feel rejuvenated and keep your spine happy and healthy!
