After much prayer and consideration regarding the future, we have decided it's time we retire from the residential aspect of recovery and focus on other related issues. Therefore we announce the closing of His House Recovery Residence effective August 1, 2023. Fifteen years ago, after our own struggles with addiction, God gave us a vision and heart to help others who battle this horrible disease. In the past fifteen years we have celebrated victories and mourned losses. We have seen people at their lowest; then witnessed the miracle of restoration ... restoration of physical health, mental health and Spiritual health. Our greatest joy is watching people who worked so hard for their recovery and are now enjoying relationships that were, at one time, very broken. We don't know how many people have been through this program. Some only stayed days, weeks or months; but regardless of the length of time they were here, it was our goal to show them the love of Christ and teach them Recovery in a faith-based setting. Because of God's goodness we were able to do that for so many years. There's no way we can thank every single person who helped us through the years. We've had so many others who came alongside of us and gave of their time and talents. All of you who have helped have made an investment in God's kingdom and we know God will bless you for that.
As for what the future holds for us, we are uncertain. But we are certain that, if we remain faithful and continue to seek God's plan for us, He will guide us to what's next. We will continue to lift up all of those whom God sent our way and who trusted us enough to let us lead them as they sought Recovery. We pray God's blessings on everyone who has had a hand in helping others and we hope that those who have been here will continue to update us on what God is doing in your life. We are truly grateful for the past fifteen years and look forward to what God has next. May God bless all of you still living in recovery and move in the lives of those still struggling. We love you all.
