We had a wonderful day at RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve enjoying a perfect day for golfing, dinner, and prizes for the winning teams and individuals! Thank you to PA State Rep. Paul Schemel for meeting with us this week! We were joined by advocacy ambassador Megan Knepper of Franklin County to discuss the importance and impact of the Hemophilia Program line item in the Pennsylvania state budget. We are so appreciative of the time and support of legislators like Representative Schemel who aid us in our advocacy efforts for the PA bleeding disorders community.

The Eastern PA Bleeding Disorders Foundation Women’s Retreat is FREE for teens and adults affected by a bleeding disorder.

The program will start with registration and the opportunity to mingle on Friday night. There will be a full day of programming on Saturday and half a day on Sunday developed and presented by staff from local Hemophilia Treatment Centers.

To keep the conversations intimate, there is limited space that will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Teens can bring one caregiver/family member. Room accommodations and meals will be covered for patients.

Today, I had the opportunity to meet with members of the Eastern Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation to learn more about their organization and mission.

Created in 1950, the foundation works to enhance the quality of life for those affected by hemophilia and von Willebrand Disease through education, advocacy and programming.
