A traditional 90min vinyasa practice to fit everything in...
Beginning with a short centering and warm-up, Sun Salutations heat the body before continuing with standing and balance poses. Practice continues on the floor with classic back-strengthening, seated twists and forward folds and hip opening. An inversion is offered as well. Class ends with a guided relaxation and meditation. No music so the focus is on the breath. Heated in the mid-80s.

Supreme Release Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga that works deeply on every aspect of being. It is a gentle and restorative approach to yoga, rooted in the tantrik understanding of the body as a sacred field of the yogic journey. Even though it is slow and deliberate, Supreme Release Yoga holds the potential to ignite the power of transformation, increase the flow of the life force, and gather the inner nectar of rejuvenation to encourage the unfolding of a profound spiritual process.

Supreme Release Yoga works by facilitating a deep and direct relaxation of the core muscles of the body, specifically the deep muscles along the spine. The spine is the central channel of the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, and the subtle body channels. The spine is also known as the conduit of the supreme spiritual process. When the spine is compressed, tight, rigid, blocked, or overworked, then the body, health, mind, emotions, and the spiritual process are distorted. When we release and nourish the spine, we release what blocks the recognition and expression of the supreme Self.

In this extended practice, we will move through a series of supine and seated postures to decompress and release the entire spine, starting from the tailbone and meticulously working our way up. Once the body is prepared and receptive, we will enjoy a guided relaxation to encourage deep nourishment of the whole body, mind and heart.

The chakras are perhaps the most widely known aspect of the yogic body - they are the subtle energy centers that are the subject of countless workshops, practices, and books. Yet despite their popularity, they are quite misunderstood.
Chakras originated from the Tantrik vision of the subtle body, and then got reimagined and reshaped after being introduced to the West - so much so that most of what is commonly taught about the chakras today has absolutely no basis in the tradition from which they come.

This workshop will serve to shed light on the chakras. We will uncover what the yogic tradition actually says about the chakras and does with them, compare that to how they are commonly taught and used today, and then consider why and if the difference even actually matters.

In this monthly workshop we will look at each of the five klesha’s, one at a time, learning their deep meaning and how they relate to our own everyday lives. We’ll have the opportunity to bring a greater awareness of what may be obscuring the truth of who we are, so that we may live more brightly and more freely as we walk the path of Yoga.

Join us for a workshop dedicated to learning the basics of Ujjayi pranayama and the intelligent use of the bandhas during yoga asana.

We will examine the anatomy and biomechanics of Ujjayi breath, including controlled glottal constriction, diaphragmatic coordination, and the role of respiratory musculature in regulating intra-abdominal and intra-thoracic pressure. Emphasis will be placed on distinguishing effort from efficiency, and on using Ujjayi as a tool for nervous system regulation, proprioceptive feedback, and movement pacing.

Participants will explore the bandhas as neuromuscular and pressure-based actions, rather than static muscular contractions. Instruction will be given on:

Mula Bandha as pelvic floor tone and reflexive lift

Uddiyana Bandha as coordinated abdominal wall engagement supporting spinal decompression and breath suspension

Jalandhara Bandha as cervical positioning influencing vagal tone

The workshop will address common misapplications (over-bracing, breath restriction, and excessive pelvic gripping), contraindications, and safety considerations.
