It’s been a minute since this class was on the schedule, but it’s back and happening this weekend!
If you haven’t tried it yet, Supreme Release Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga that works deeply on every aspect of being. It is a gentle and restorative approach to yoga, rooted in the tantrik understanding of the body as a sacred field of the yogic journey. Even though it is slow and deliberate, Supreme Release Yoga holds the potential to ignite the power of transformation, increase the flow of the life force, and gather the inner nectar of rejuvenation to encourage the unfolding of a profound spiritual process.
Supreme Release Yoga works by facilitating a deep and direct relaxation of the core muscles of the body, specifically the deep muscles along the spine. The spine is the central channel of the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, and the subtle body channels. The spine is also known as the conduit of the supreme spiritual process. When the spine is compressed, tight, rigid, blocked, or overworked, then the body, health, mind, emotions, and the spiritual process are distorted. When we release and nourish the spine, we release what blocks the recognition and expression of the supreme Self.
In this extended practice, we will move through a series of supine and seated postures to decompress and release the entire spine, starting from the tailbone and meticulously working our way up. Once the body is prepared and receptive, we will enjoy a guided relaxation to encourage deep nourishment of the whole body, mind and heart.
