đź DĂa de los Mu***os â A Celebration of Memory and Love đź
As an Omnist, Iâve always believed that every faith, every culture, and every ritual carries a piece of divine truth. One thatâs always spoken deeply to me is DĂa de los Mu***os â the Day of the Dead, celebrated on November 1st and 2nd throughout Mexico and many Latin American communities.
Contrary to what many might think, itâs not âanother Halloween.â Itâs a sacred and joyful tradition â a time when families come together to honor and remember those whoâve passed, keeping their memories alive through love, stories, music, and offerings.
Altars called ofrendas are built with photos, candles, favorite foods, flowers (especially marigolds đź), and meaningful items â all meant to help guide loved onesâ spirits back for a brief visit. Itâs not about mourning, but celebrating the continuation of connection â the truth that love doesnât end when life does.
The first time I really understood this was through Disneyâs Coco. That movie opened my eyes to the beauty behind this celebration â the idea that as long as we remember someone, they are never truly gone. That message has always stayed with me.
As an Omnist, I see DĂa de los Mu***os as a living symbol of what connects all faiths: remembrance, gratitude, and love that transcends time and form. Whether we call it spirit, soul, energy, or essence â itâs the same eternal spark that binds us all together.
đ⨠Today and every day, may we honor those who came before us â by remembering, by celebrating, and by continuing their stories through our own lives!
