In a 2025 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Cannabis use was found to negatively effect brain function in BOTH recent, and long-term use.

While the state of Washington does not allow, in many cases, the pre-employment test of cannabis use, your business does NOT need to accept use by your employees. You have a right to foster a safe work environment. Your policy should reflect your stance on cannabis use by your employees and you should advise any new hires of that position.

In order to maintain a safe work environment, your workforce should be randomly tested for illicit substances, including cannabis. If you need help setting up a fair random drug screening program for your company, we can help. We can design a program to perform your pre-employment tests however you need. We can randomly select which of your employees to send for testing monthly or quarterly, and perform a testing panel that best aligns with your company's needs.

We are looking for a few punctual, reliable people of integrity. We will train you to obtain certification for drug and alcohol testing which will be the majority of your tasks with us. There is a cost involved with this training. We will cover the cost of the training, with a signed, time based reimbursement agreement.

Training and certifications for other tasks and programs will possibly follow in time.

Applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and background check. Due to the nature of our business, cannabis use is not permitted.

Over the past several years, the drug testing industry has undergone numerous changes, most of which may go unnoticed until they directly impact you. One recent development that has affected many people is the shift away from certain testing facilities. If you have been accustomed to sending your employees and candidates to our facility, but we are no longer listed as an option, don't fret. You can still utilize our services by providing your billing information for the collection fee.

Unfortunately, many areas, including ours, now require individuals to travel up to an hour away to obtain a Quest Diagnostics collection. This can result in significant costs, particularly when employees are tested while on the clock. Fortunately, choosing our local collection facility is still an option that can provide a more cost-effective solution.

We would like to thank those of you who have been understanding about the mask mandate over the last three years, who read the notices on the door, or read the notes on other companys' websites and brought a mask with you. Thank you to those who had to once again put on a mask for a few moments and did not give us a lot of grief. We would also like to thank our neighbors for having to endure people going door-to-door looking for masks. Thank you, truly.

But mostly, we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to our staff. Over the last three years they have not had a break from wearing the masks. Our staff have patiently endured all sorts of mistreatment and abuse from the public. They have been called names that I won't print, threatened with legal action, and even violence. We'd like to thank the Kennewick Police Department for their assistance several times over the past three years.

On April 3, 2023, the Washington State Secretary of Health will end the requirement for people in medical facilites to wear masks. To celebrate this occasion, there will be cake and punch available at Adept Testing, you are welcome to join us.
