I created SageHaven as a means to share my intuitive healing with others who seek balance between body, mind, and spirit. My background as a Certified Qigong Trainer, Reiki Master Teacher, and Registered Yoga Teacher offers my clients a unique experience, certain to create a sense of well-being that remains long after their session ends. My interest in holistic practices grew increasingly strong after I injured my neck in a military accident and underwent a 2-level spinal fusion. The combination of pain medications and continuous physical therapy left me searching for alternatives that treated not only the physical body, but the emotional state as well. Sharing my experience with other Veterans made me realize how many people are themselves seeking a less conventional, but more effective, path to wellness. The goal in my practice is for each client to leave their session feeling balanced, content and peaceful. My greatest joy is using my skills as a healer to educate others along this beautiful path of life.

Nadis: The Energy Channels of the Body

It is believed that there are over 72,000 Nadis throughout the body.

The 3 main Nadis are:

Ida Nadi-Located along the left side of the spine, feminine energy, and governs the parasympathetic nervous system. When balanced, allows for emotional stability and mental clarity.

Pingala Nadi-Located along the right side of the spine, masculine energy, and governs the sympathetic nervous system. When balanced, allows for clear thinking and decision making.

Sushumna Nadi-Located from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and the most important energy channel in the body. When this pathway flows freely, one can achieve higher states of consciousness.

Qigong is all about balance. ☯️

Daily practice allows us to recognize the subtle changes in qi (life force energy) within our bodies and make any necessary adjustments so that we can feel our best-emotionally, physically, & spiritually.

As Master Lin reminds us, "Good. Better. Best." Some practice is better than no practice at all. The simple act of envisioning your body in perfect balance is a great way to start your day!

This week, we'll be discussing mudras and how using them improves our meditation and yoga practices. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

What are mudras?

Mudras are hand gestures that influence the flow of energy within our bodies to promote emotional, physical, and spiritual balance.

Our thumb and four fingers represent the 5 elements:

* Thumb-Fire (Agni)
* 1st Finger-Air (Vayu)
* 2nd Finger-Ether (Akasha)
* 3rd Finger-Earth (Prithvi)
* 4th Finger-Water (Jala)

Over the next 5 days, we'll be devoting a day to each of the 5 elements and their coordinating mudras.

Try them out in your practice this week!
