St. Catherine’s Independent Living kicked off 2026 with our very first Soup-Off! Residents cooked up their favorite soup recipes, while fellow community members tasted, enjoyed, and voted for their top pick. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the amazing cooks in our community and sample some truly delicious soups.

All entries were fantastic, but Beverly took home the win with her Creamy Wild Rice Soup! She received a fully stocked spice rack and engraved spoons to mark her bragging rights.

Thank you to everyone who participated. It was such a rich and memorable day!

Fat Tuesday at St. Catherine’s Independent Living was an absolute blast!

We turned the day into a full celebration of flavor, culture, and community. The Kenosha Library joined us for a special visit and surprised everyone with warm, delicious paczkis that set the tone for a fantastic afternoon.

Residents jumped right into learning about vibrant Polish traditions, swapping stories, and collecting new Polish-style recipes to try. The laughter, the conversations, and the excitement made the whole event unforgettable.
