Is this hectic way of life familiar to you? It starts with the first actions after waking to the blasting sound of your phone’s alarm. With digital-dependent modern morning routines that involve habits like hitting snooze multiple times, scrolling through phone notifications, work emails and social media before getting out of bed, then rushing through breakfast to leave the house and race to work. And that’s just if you only have yourself to think about. Add in family and pets for even more busywork, overstimulation and mental overload. Remember each day is the chance for a reset. Strive for a less reactive and more proactive approach and see how your body responds to the change of course. Do you have a morning ritual that helps set the tone for your day?

Resentment can sneak up on us if we aren't attentive to the needs of our partner. Rushed mornings, late nights with work or after school activities can cause stress to build and when the weight of the day falls on one person more than the other it can lead to greater frustration and growing resentment towards your partner. Those longtime unmet needs combined with ongoing stress can fuel conflict in relationships. Until shared responsibility is restored and unmet needs are addressed resentment will continue to grow and fester. So how do we avoid letting things fester? Try to schedule regular check in time with your partner to find out where they are feeling strong and where they need support. The goal is to communicate and be alongside each other to create balance. Find out what that looks like in your relationship.
