Our caring staff under the direction of our campus RN provide 24/7 assist our residents to graciously maintain their independence as their needs change. Did someone turn down the heat because it’s “chili” in here! With the colder weather coming❄️ it was time for our somewhat annual staff Chili Cook-Off Contest! With the judgmental taste buds of our residents and a few family members, our 7 contestants nervously stood by awaiting the results. Drum roll please:🥁 in First Place, as a returning champion from 2023, Nurse Lisa P. took home the gold🥇 with her “Game Day” Chili! In Second Place was Executive Dining Manager Brodie with his “Three Stooges” Chili, and in Third Place, the Maintenance Dept. was well represented by winner Flo’s Rustic Chili. To keep things spicy, this year we threw in a twist with one entry intentionally being canned chili. Surprisingly it did rather well, yet not quite good enough to place (phew). Congrats to the winners and our thanks to the hungry judges!

Thank you Valeo's Pizza Kitchen for visiting and bringing such yummy fun to our residents. We learned things, we made great pizzas, and then we ate. Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon. We so appreciate your visit with us. We love our local businesses!

November 11th is always a special day for us as we are able to be a part of honoring our residents who are veterans and those whose loved ones served our country. A special thank you to Alliance & Hospice Alliance Foundation for leading the beautiful ceremony on this 11th month, on the 11th day at the 11th hour, that included song, prayer, stories from our residents, and gratitude. Our military veteran residents are: Bill N. (Army), Ed (Navy), Tom (Army), Bill P. (Navy), Dennis (Marines) and Gordon (Army Reserve).❤️The spouses of veterans in our community are too many to mention but we also acknowledged their contributions as military wives.❤️ We were grateful for the photos our residents, families, and staff brought in to showcase those who served this country. For every one of our veterans, and for those veterans reading this, we thank you for your service. 🇺🇸

We have a calming recommendation for you on how to spend today’s Feel Good Friday. Indulge in some self-care that you well deserve. Look no further than some of our Library Terrace ladies to see how it’s done. A darkened room, soothing music, aromatherapy, eye masks, hand massages, lotions, and more that invite a sense of peace. Our Library Terrace “spa attendants” pampered each lady and everyone left feeling tranquil, renewed, and blissful. Ahhhh… that feels good.

Our caregivers… the heart and soul of Library Terrace. They not only care for our residents but become friends and confidants. Each year the Kenosha Long Term Care Workforce Alliance recognizes professional caregivers and this year representing Library Terrace at the 34th annual Caregivers Recognition Luncheon with the theme, “You Are Our SuperHeroes!,” was (from left) Becky, Jenney, Gert, Deborah, and Jenney accompanied by Library Terrace Nurse Lisa P., RN. We couldn’t be prouder to see these amazing ladies celebrated!👏👏👏👏 Held at Casa Capri, Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala (pictured in the middle with our caregivers) presented each caregiver with a certificate. Then before the event ended, there was the winning of door prizes and you can see, some of our caregivers did not leave empty handed! We’d also like to shout out our own THANK YOU to all of our caregiver ladies and gentleman of Library Terrace who truly put the heart into caring. Every one of us at Library Terrace appreciate you so much.❤️
