Reminder this Thanksgiving week: even your nervous system deserves a little rest and digest. 😌🧠
Your child’s nervous system, and yours, thrive on calm, safety, and love. Co-regulation doesn’t come from doing more… it comes from being present. That’s what true regulation looks like. 💛
When your nervous system is calm, your child’s nervous system learns what calm feels like, too. Their brain literally syncs with yours, through your breathing, your tone, your energy.

So as the holiday rush begins, remember:
😌 Slow down.
🧠 Breathe deep.
🥧 Enjoy the connection around the table (and that second slice of pie).

And moms and dads...Your nervous system deserves a little rest and digest, too. 💛
Avoid talking about politics at the Thanksgiving table this year and instead pull up our blog article to read after that 2nd slice of pie. 😜
Comment 'whole' to get our blog on co-regulation and why the whole family needs chiropractic care.

What are the Neurological "Soft Signs" of Healing to look for during the start of your care plan? When care first starts, the biggest changes usually aren’t the big milestones. They’re the little ones that will add up to the BIG ones!! 😍

You might start to notice things like:
👏 Deeper, more restful sleep
👏 A better appetite or easier digestion
👏 Stronger tone or better posture
👏 More balance and smoother coordination
👏 Less sensory overwhelm
👏 Calmer transitions and fewer meltdowns

These are what we call neurological “soft signs” of healing.
They’re the body’s way of saying, “Hey, I’m starting to regulate and rebalance!”
Meaning, exactly what we want!! 💪

As your child’s nervous system settles and strengthens, these subtle shifts start to stack up, building the foundation for the bigger, more visible progress ahead (like speech, motor skills, and emotional growth). Those BIG things come after the soft signs of healing.
Healing happens from the inside out 👉 foundation first, then complexity.
So if you’re seeing these little wins early on, celebrate them and make sure to tell us about them at your next visit! 🧡
They mean your child’s body is already starting to do the work. 💪

This Thanksgiving season, we want to share a hack for when you are worrying: find something to be grateful for. Neurologically, you cannot be in a state of appreciation and fear at the same time.

So often when pregnancy isn’t happening after a long time of trying, people begin to wrestle feeling like a failure or feeling like their body is failing them. There is so much to be grateful for. We are here to support you in your goals and to encourage you that there is hope.

Send us a DM if you want to learn more. ☺️

Our Story

~ Dr. Davis founded Sozo Chiropractic in 2014. She is a Kenosha native. She graduated cm laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic after receiving her undergraduate degree from UW- Parkside. She is certified in both nutrition and the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a specific method of analysis and adjusting for women during pregnancy to allow optimal positioning of the baby. Dr. Davis is passionate about educating the community about the multitude of health benefits that Chiropractic care can bring to every member of the family.

~ Dr. Punita’s road to Sozo is an adventurous one! She was born in India and moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland at the age of 8. Dr. Punita went on to earn her doctorate in chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 2007. Dr. Punita is very passionate about chiropractic and the well being of each and every one of her patients. She takes great joy in helping every patient with an emphasis on guiding them to take a healthier and physically more productive path through their journey in life.

~ After a sports injury that could’ve ended her softball career, Dr. Shelby sought out the help of a chiropractor. After returning to play only a month after the injury, Dr. Shelby shadowed and explored chiropractic. Chiropractic offices were so inviting and felt like a family. While off for the summers in college, she spent time interning at offices and felt that the chiropractic life was the one for her. That is where she found her passion for families and especially kids. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Shelby received her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She then continued her education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in February of 2020. Her passion is working with kids of all ages and their families. She is moved to Kenosha with her husband, Aaron after getting married in June.
