It’s spring time at EYT!! So, we obviously had to make a fairy garden themed sensory bin 🧚🏼♀️🍄🐛🌷
Sensory play is more than just fun — it’s a powerful way children build language and confidence through shared experiences! While children scoop, pour, watch, hide flowers/bugs, and explore different textures, they’re naturally building:
🌼 Language
Sensory play introduces action words (dig, pour, hide), position words (in, under, next to), and describing words (soft, scratchy, tiny) in ways that feel meaningful and stick
🌼 Social communication
Shared moments like noticing something together, handing a flower back and forth, taking turns pouring or shaking beans, or waiting for “more” help build the foundations for conversation
You don’t need special instructions for a sensory bin to be meaningful — just follow your child’s lead and stay curious with them! Connection is where communication grows 🌈
