MOCO Movement Center

MOCO Movement Center MOCO strives to keep the environments as fun and natural to each participant as what they would choose to do during their own free time.

https://linktr.ee/mocomovementcenter We have so many different services to offer! Applied Functional Therapy™
MOCO Movement Center takes pediatric therapy (Occupational, Physical, and Speech) out of the clinic and into the real world. With a synthetic ice rink, climbing wall, obstacle courses and professional musical studio, our modern facility has something for everyone! Movement & Play-Based Classes

Our classes build strength, coordination, balance, and confidence through purposeful play. Children explore obstacle courses, climbing elements, balance challenges, trampolines, and suspended equipment — all designed to support physical and developmental growth in a fun, supportive environment. Classes include:
• Caregiver–child classes
• Preschool and school-age movement classes
• Gymnastics foundations
• Infant Massage

Skill Builders Programs

Skill Builders are small-group programs focused on developing specific functional, social, and motor skills in a structured yet playful setting. These programs bridge the gap between therapy and recreation with clear goals and real-world application. Current & upcoming Skill Builders include: (Launching 2026)
• Recess Ready: Four Square: building playground confidence, game skills, turn-taking, and peer interaction
• Skill Builders: Get Crafty: supporting fine motor skills, planning, creativity, and task completion
• Skill Builders: Agility Academy: focused on speed, coordination, body control, and athletic readiness

Learn-to-Ride Bike Intensives

MOCO’s Bike Riding Intensives use a proven balance-first approach to help children learn to ride independently. Programs are individualized, confidence-building, and led by experienced staff who understand motor learning and child development. Summer Adventure Program

Our half-day Summer Adventure Program for children ages 5-10 blends movement, obstacle courses, cooperative games, and themed activities in MOCO’s dynamic facility. Small groups and intentional programming support strength, coordination, confidence, and social engagement, all while having fun. Caregiver Education & Community Programs

We also offer caregiver education sessions, workshops, and community-based programming designed to support families beyond traditional therapy and classes.

🚨 Event Update

MOCO will be at the Howard County Special Education Resource Fair
📍 Cedar Lane School
11630 Scaggsville Rd, Fulton, MD
🗓 March 14
⏰ 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Come learn about our movement-based therapy programs, climbing therapy opportunities, and community programs for kids.

From a MOCO parent of a child with CP, "watching my child climb for the first time was incredible.
What looked like play was actually helping him build:
• grip strength
• coordination
• crossing midline
• weight bearing on both legs
• confidence
But the biggest moment?
The day he proudly told his classmates:
“I rock climb.”"

If you're in the Columbia / Howard County area, come see climbing therapy in action this Saturday at the Movement Columbia Open House and stop by the MOCO booth to meet Max.

Thank you to all the families who joined us for today’s First Friday Playdate!

These playdates are a wonderful way for families in Montgomery County’s Infants & Toddlers Program to connect, play, and build community together.

We love seeing little ones explore the gym, practice new movement skills, and make new friends.

Special thanks to Callie for helping make today’s playdate such a great experience!

If your child is enrolled in MCITP and looking for a welcoming play space, we’d love to see you at a future playdate.

Crawling helps babies develop shoulder strength, coordination, and body awareness.

These skills support future milestones like walking, climbing, and active play.

If your child is struggling to get moving, early support can help build strength and confidence.

Morning therapy appointments currently available.

What do Occupational Therapists actually do? 🤔

At MOCO, OT is all about helping kids build the skills they need for everyday life — through play, movement, creativity, and problem solving. From climbing and crawling to grasping, balancing, and regulating big feelings, these moments are building the foundations for independence.

Stay tuned for more in our “What Therapists Do” series as we highlight the amazing work of our OT, PT, and Speech teams. 🦩

It might look like just riding a bike…
but for so many of our kids, it’s so much more.

It’s balance, coordination, and core strength.
It’s planning, focus, and confidence.
It’s learning how to fall, try again, and trust your body.

At MOCO, biking is a whole-body, whole-brain experience and for many kids it becomes a turning point, not just a skill.

We’re proud of every wobble, every pedal, and every “I did it!” 🚲

Build skills.
Build confidence.
Build independence.

Our Bike Intensive isn’t just about riding, it’s about helping kids feel capable, strong, and proud of what they can do.

This summer, give your child the tools to ride with confidence.

Spots are limited.

Not all learn-to-ride programs are created equal 🚲

Our Bike Riding Intensive is intentionally small and individualized, because learning to ride a bike is about more than balance.

✔️ Real-time feedback
✔️ Adjusting pace for each child
✔️ Confidence built through success

We meet each rider where they are, and move forward together.
