Congratulations are in order as we say goodbye to Senior Paramedic Tony Smith. Tony began his EMS career with Shepard Ambulance in 1986. Tony joined KCM1 in 1995 attending PMT Class 22. If that wasn't enough, Tony got his RN in 2005 (completing his BSN in 2016), so we got the pleasure of delivering some of our patients to one of our own at the ER! Tony served as an FTO and tirelessly as a member of IAFF Local 2595, including serving as a shift trustee and Vice President. Tony's larger than life personality and laugh will be missed by all and we only wish him the best in his next adventure. Congrats, Tony!

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜† ๐—–๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ณ ๐—๐—ถ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜† ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—ฏ๐—ฏ to cancer on September 5, 2025. Jimmy is survived by his devoted wife, Pam, his loving children, Megan, Courtney, and Nathan, his mother Glenda, his sisters Gina, Janet, and his three grandchildren Jack, Elliott and Sage. Jimmy bravely fought a battle with cancer, acquired during his selfless service. His passing is considered a Line of Duty Death due to the occupational related cancer. Jimmy was employed by Kent Fire Department (Puget Sound Fire) starting on April 1, 1999, and served for over 26 years before retiring on June 30, 2025, holding badge #208. DC Webb held the ranks of Firefighter, Engineer, Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief, and Deputy Chief. In his early years as a firefighter, he was a member of the HazMat team and the Ladder Company, and he spent time in training as the Training Consortium was being developed.

After being promoted to Battalion Chief, Chief Webb spent about four years as a shift battalion chief before being assigned back to Training, where he eventually became the Deputy Chief of the South King County Fire Training Consortium - this is the position from which he retired. In this role, he oversaw the training of 15 different organizations, working to merge multiple cultures and systems into a unified organization that now provides training for nearly 1,500 personnel. His contributions to this department were immeasurable, and his impact will be forever felt.

Prior to his fire service career, Jimmy served in the United States Navy from August 1, 1988, to May 1, 1994.

Jimmy cherished his family and friends immensely. He loved Pam deeply, loved being a father and grandfather and loved the fire service. In his free time, Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends, camping, traveling and cheering for the Oklahoma Sooners football and softball teams, as well as playing fantasy football. Jimmy's positive spirit, his unwavering passion for service, and his love for his family and friends have left an indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him.

Details about a Celebration of Life for Jimmy will be shared soon.

We are heartbroken to share that Lieutenant Larry Doll passed away Monday following a medical emergency experienced on Aug. 13 while off-duty. Lt. Larry Doll was 55 years old and began employment with the Seattle Fire Department in 2006 as a member of Recruit Class 91. He dedicated 19 years of his life serving the Seattle community, spending time working on Engines 11 and 31 before becoming a firefighter/paramedic in 2012. In 2023, Larry promoted to lieutenant and later became one of our Medical Services Officers overseeing the paramedics on duty for A platoon. Lt. Doll also served our nation honorably as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Larry was surrounded by close family members in his final moments. We are holding them, his friends and fellow colleagues close in our hearts as we grieve his loss - may he rest in peace.
