Alina teaches non-traditional yoga for people over 50 who want yoga to be accessible. It’s not about extreme poses but more about the simple things like strength, resilience, and balance. I’ve come to understand that it is in the subtleties of inner movement where the healing of the body-mind takes place. teacher and has been teaching yoga for over 25 years. Previously she danced with American Ballet Theatre and performed in Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. She is currently working on a 300 hour Embodied yoga certification with Patty Townsend and an in depth training with Patty Bainbridge Cohen. Training

Dear ABT friends. I am trying to figure out where to find some of the recordings we filmed in the 80’s and 90’s Live from Lincoln Center. The performing arts library will not let you copy just view.
PBS website sends you to the performing arts library. We did not have the luxury of smart phones at the time and its very hard to have any memory of 12 years in ABT.
Any ideas out there? Any contacts that you know about?
It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you much!

Dear Friends,

We are moving on Monday and the first class will not be in the current space.

The class will take place at 14 Old Barn Road Unit 3 on the second floor. The entrance is in the back of the buiding. Parking is also in the back. Go past RT Facts make a right to park and you will see the stairs on the right as you are facing the back of the building. The sign on the door says Gyrotonic. YOU WILL NEED TO BUZZ UP so I can let you in.

Terry and Missy I will let you know if we can access any wifi. If not perhaps you can come in person.

Thank you to all that have offered to help me move. It is much appreciated. I was able to find some strong young guys to help and we don’t have a big load. Mostly props and Stan.

Oh and we also have a bathroom. YEAHHHH!

Dear Friends
I just read this in the harvard medical journal and I thought I would share it with you.
Yoga is a great way to manage stress. Did you know that most American adults feel the effects of stress? Regular yoga practice can help you deal with stress and improve your overall well-being. Yoga has many scientifically proven benefits for the mind and body. It can reduce stress, boost your immune system, and help you feel less tired. Yoga can also improve your sleep and make you feel more energized. Even people recovering from medical illnesses like cancer can benefit from yoga. The key to getting the most out of yoga is to practice regularly and consistently.

Keep practicing. Namastream is a wonderful way to keep up your practice during these shorter days of light.

Our Story

The New Kent Yoga & Bodyworks Studio! Alina is a very popular teacher who has been teaching in Kent for over 10 years. She is known for her ability to hone in on each individual student during her classes. Whatever your needs, she will modify poses for you, while keeping the rest of the class focused. The beauty of her way of teaching is that she uses props to support each individual student depending on their specific needs that day. She offers different levels of yoga classes to keep you as safe as possible in your yoga practice. Alina practices everyday and studies regularly with her teachers. From all the abuse of dancing at such a young age, she understands the healing process better than most. This experience has been her best teacher and has given her an appreciation for this amazing practice of yoga. Alina feels that we have so much stress and so many distractions in our lives right now, that it's nice to do a practice that allows your body mind and spirit to be supported strengthened and balanced.
