The Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County funds services for Portage County residents through its network of agencies. Services help families, adults, teens and children with mental illness, depression, addictions, in crisis and at risk for su***de. The system is funded by Portage County taxpayers, along with grants and funds from the State of Ohio. Adults and families receiving services pay what they can afford, making services accessible to as many as possible. We welcome you and your comments to the Mental Health & Recovery Board of Portage County pages. The purpose of this site is to educate and present matters of public interest. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. After viewing a short documentary and having a discussion, the group painted flower pots to reflect on the idea of "seeds of hope," a small but promising start towards something positive in a difficult time.

The Mental Health and Recovery Board is proud to announce the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) honors for 2025 awarded by the Portage County Chief’s Association. Officer Thomas Ondecker, Streetsboro PD was named the CIT Officers of the Year; Kayla Michael, LSW, Coleman Health Services, was named the CIT Champions of the Year; and Disp.
