An interesting read!

Your calf muscles are referred to as the ‘second heart’

It is a common term for the calf muscles pump, solely the soleus muscle, which helps with the return of deoxygenated blood from the lower limbs beck to the chest.

When calf muscles contract, they squeeze deep leg veins and the one way valves ensure that the blood moves upwards against gravity, aiding the main heart’s circulation.

This all helps with circulation in preventing blood clots, blood pooling in the legs which leads to swelling and varicose veins.

I know I do not have the best circulation (family trait) so use a Revitive to make my calf muscles work hard and also walking. It really does help.

I sit a lot in my work for long periods of time so important to make time to move, the same goes if standing for long periods…….. move
