Wright's Funeral Parlor

Wright's Funeral Parlor Family Owned & Family Focused
Serving the Hill Country since 2000 Wright and Bobby J. Wright. Cynthia chose the mortuary field after serving in the U.S.

Wright's Funeral Parlor was established and licensed by the Texas Funeral Service Commission (TFSC #2220) on July 2000 by Cynthia D. Navy and having the opportunity to go to the school of her choice. Her daughter Melissa Hernandez quickly got involved in the family business, graduating from SAC in 2002 with a degree in funeral directing. In May of 2019 Melissa Hernandez and her husband, Victor, took over the business following Cynthia's medical retirement. Continuing on the family owned business, daughter-in-law, Trista Lewis started in October 2019 as the pre-arrangement specialist and will begin funeral directing school in the fall of 2021 at Dallas Inst. of Funeral Service with graduation set for Fall 2023. Melissa and Trista plan on continuing with the same values and traditions that founded Wright's Funeral Parlor. Now that a new generation of the Wright family is managing the funeral home we are taking a more progressive outlook when it comes to personalizing everyone's experience. We have found a modern way to help families grieve and honor their loved ones with customizable and personable prayer cards, memorial tribute videos and funeral services. The funeral home is honored to serve the Hill Country for over two decades. We are proud to be truly family owned and operated; Melissa & Victor Hernandez, Trista Lewis, Nicholas Wright and family. Our family takes pride in putting families first and making the services we offer affordable and personal to fit everyone's need. Family Owned & Family Focused.

8th day of Remembrance: Memory Wear Day

Today, we invite you to carry your loved one with you in a simple, heartfelt way.
Wear something meaningful in their honor, examples
• their favorite color
• a piece of jewelry or an item that belonged to them
• a remembrance pin or ribbon
It’s not about what others see, but about the quiet connection you feel. Love doesn’t end, and neither do the memories we carry.

* the top Melissa has on is one of her mom's favorite items. Cynthia loved elephants.

7th Day of Christmas: Volunteer at Your Loved One’s Favorite Charity

At Christmastime, many people feel a pull to give back to the community and care for others. We believe service is one of the most meaningful ways to remember someone. Carrie volunteers with Meals on Wheels, our staff regularly helps clean and care for local cemeteries, and throughout the year we recognize national appreciation days with small gifts for those who serve our community (clergy, hairdressers, caregivers, and others), who quietly support families every day. We are also proud to assist with veteran programs and to host a Senior Expo that connects older adults and their families with helpful local resources, education, and support.

Whatever feels most meaningful to you, choose the act of kindness that best reflects your loved one’s heart and in doing so, keep their memory alive.

Remembering our loved ones this holiday season through music they loved.
6th Day of Christmas : Listen to your loved ones Christmas playlist
Throughout Carrie’s childhood, her dad Doug Doubrava, made music a priority in life. Every Christmas throughout the 1980s, in a living room dimly lit from the glow of lights wrapped around a tree, Doug would play accompaniment by guitar to an Elvis Christmas album, while the kids sang along. Time seemed to move slower back then. Having the ability to continue the tradition of playing a record in honor of a loved one this holiday season is a blessing.

5th Day of Christmas: Create a Remembrance Ornament

On the 5th Day of Christmas, we invite you to create a Remembrance Ornament to honor the memory of a loved one who has passed. This special tradition allows us to celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us, while keeping their spirits close during the holiday season.

In Victor’s family tradition, Christmas Eve is a time for reflection and connection to family history. As we gather, the family shares the story of our history and takes turns calling each family member’s name. One by one, each person steps forward to place a Christmas ornament on the tree—including ornaments placed in honor of loved ones who have passed. This meaningful gesture allows us to remember those we love, celebrate their lives, and cherish the moments we shared together.

Today, we invite you to create a remembrance ornament of your own—something meaningful that honors a loved one and keeps their memory close during the season and beyond.

4th Day of Christmas: Watch Your Loved One’s Favorite Christmas Movie
Watching Christmas movies is a time-honored tradition for so many families. There’s something oddly comforting about the tradition of bringing out the movie favorites each year. If this is true for your family, consider setting aside an evening to watch your loved one’s preferred Christmas movie. Make an evening of it, complete with popcorn, snacks, and a cozy blanket to snuggle up under.

Day 3 of 12 days of Remembrance

Christmas comes with the comfort of so many delicious and familiar smells wafting from the kitchen. To bring your loved one’s memory into the festivities, consider adding their favorite foods and desserts to your menu. Whether it’s the family-famous Frosted Flakes cookies or german chocolate cake, it will feel good to include their favorites in the holiday preparations. And if you cry a little bit, that’s okay. It’s good to find positive ways to balance grief and joy during the holiday season.

A Birthday Remembered 🤍

Today we pause to honor the birthday of the beloved grandmother of one of our team members. While she is no longer here to celebrate in person, her presence is still deeply felt through the stories shared, the lessons she passed down and the love she planted in the hearts of her family.

Birthdays like today serve as gentle reminders that a life well lived never truly ends. The laughter, kindness, strength and wisdom she gave continue to live on through generations. Though time moves forward, the memories remain, wrapped in love and gratitude.

We honor her life, celebrate her legacy and extend our heartfelt thoughts to her family on this meaningful day. May her memory always be a blessing.

💐 Forever in our hearts. We love you Ginny!

Day 2 of 12 Days of Remembrance

On the second day of Christmas, consider putting up a memory stocking. Either put up the stocking your loved one always used or a special one. Throughout the holiday season, your family can write down memories or thoughts or draw pictures and place them in the stocking. Then, perhaps near the end of your 12 days, you can all sit down together, read the notes, and remember your loved one together.

Day 1 of 12 Days of Remembrance 🎄

Over the next 12 days our staff will be honoring and remembering our own lost loved ones as well as all the loved ones of the families we have had the honor of serving this year. The 1st day of remembrance is lighting a candle to represent this. For a long time, candles have been a symbol of remembrance. Keeping the light burning throughout the holiday season signifies that the memory of a loved one still shines bright. You could select a special candle and light it each day. Alternatively, especially if you have kids in the house, you could purchase an electric candle that you can leave lit all the time. Either way, each time you see the candle, you’ll be reminded of your loved one and the special place they have in your heart. 🕯️
