Emergency Shelter:

K'STAR Emergency Shelter provides nurture and support for displaced children. Through the practice of Trauma-Informed Care, we start the process of healing the abuse, neglect, and trauma suffered in their early years. Our home can house up to twenty youngsters ages birth to seventeen. Free Counseling and Family Services:

It is our goal to help families develop the skills they need to remain together in a safe and loving environment for all involved. Our family and youth counseling services are provided free of charge to eligible families and aim to prevent runaways, truancy, abuse, and neglect. We maintain a crisis hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for children and parents. Free Parenting Classes:

In the event that a court of law requires you to attend parenting classes, we offer a class once a week for six weeks. At the successful conclusion of the class, you receive a certificate of completion to turn in to meet Child Protective Services, court, or probation requirements.

As one of our dedicated maintenance team members, Kevin works behind the scenes to keep our shelter, counseling center, and Halo’s Kloset clean, safe, and up to date. Whether he’s tackling repairs, handling special projects, or jumping in wherever help is needed, Kevin’s hard work and positive attitude make a difference every day.

Our Spring Break Camp is right around the corner, and we need YOUR help to make it an incredible week for our campers! ⭐️

We are currently seeking donations to help provide daily lunch meals, snacks, water, juice, camp supplies, and facility usage support. These items, along with monetary donations, can help ensure our campers are fueled, cared for, and able to fully enjoy their time at camp.

Today we’re celebrating Blossom, our incredible Donations Coordinator, on two years with K’STAR! ⭐️

Blossom is deeply dedicated to the children and youth we serve. She ensures that every child in our emergency shelter has not only the essentials they absolutely need, but also the small comforts and “wants” that make a difficult time feel a little lighter. No matter how long or short their time at our facility may be.

Blossom has also done an outstanding job leading Halo’s Kloset, helping serve youth & teens in the Kerrville area. Through her commitment and compassion, we’ve been able to reach and support even more youth in need.

Spring Break will be here before we know it! 🌷

K’STAR’s SBC will kick off March 16th, and we’re excited to provide a safe, fun, and enriching experience again this year for Kerrville youth.

Along with activities, learning, and connection, daily lunches play a huge role in making camp successful. We’re currently seeking local restaurants, community businesses, organizations, & individuals who would like to sponsor/donate lunch one day for our campers! This is a great way to give back, show community support, and make a direct difference in a child’s day. ⭐️
