🌻In September, Head Start 4-year-olds visited CMN for a fun and hands-on field trip! They rotated through learning stations, harvesting sunflower heads they planted in the spring, making sunflower crafts, hearing stories, collecting seeds, playing bingo, and exploring the farmers’ market with a scavenger hunt. A great day of learning and laughter! 🌻🎨🧺

Move More, Live Better!
Being physically active isn’t just good for your body—it’s good for your wallet too. 💸 A new report shows that not getting enough physical activity is linked to $192 billion in U.S. health care costs.

Let’s change that—together. Whether it’s a walk in the woods or playing with your kids, every step counts toward a healthier Menominee Nation. 🌿💪

Move Together, Grow Together
Movement is more powerful when we do it together. Whether it’s a family hike, a neighborhood walk, or a community dance night, group activities bring us closer while keeping our bodies strong and minds sharp.
🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Shared movement strengthens:
✅ Physical health
✅ Mental wellness
✅ Family and community bonds
A beautiful example of this was the “Walk For Them” Water Walk on April 6, 2025. Community members walked from Shawano Dam to Keshena Falls, honoring the journey of fish returning to their spawning grounds—a journey they can no longer complete. It was a powerful way to move together in ceremony, remembrance, and healing.
The Kemāmaceqtaq: We’re All Moving project celebrates the Menominee tradition of coming together. Let’s build a healthier future—side by side, step by step.
💡 Tip: Turn family gatherings into movement time—play games, go for a nature walk, or try group stretches before meals!

Stay Strong, Stay Independent
Getting older doesn’t mean slowing down—it means moving smarter! Regular physical activity helps adults 65+ stay independent, reduce the risk of falls, and keep minds sharp. 🧠💪
👟 Just a brisk walk, light gardening, or some balance exercises a few times a week can:
✅ Improve sleep
✅ Reduce anxiety
✅ Lower risk of heart disease and diabetes
✅ Prevent hip fractures and help with daily activities
Let’s move together—for a longer, healthier life.
🌿 The Kemāmaceqtaq: We’re All Moving project is here to support safe, active living for all generations in Menominee County/Nation.

Small Steps, Big Gains
🏃‍♂️ Improving physical activity doesn’t mean you have to become a marathon runner. Small, consistent changes—like taking the stairs or dancing for 10 minutes—can add up to big health benefits over time.
📉 Did you know? 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week reduces the risk of chronic disease.
🌟 Get moving and inspire others to do the same!

Move Your Body, Connect with Nature 🌿
💪 Physical activity can prevent and manage chronic diseases—but nearly half of U.S. adults don’t get enough. Luckily, the Phenology Learning Path on the CMN Keshena campus makes it easy and fun to stay active!
🌿This scenic trail winds through forests and wetlands, featuring interactive signs in Menominee and English, QR codes, and Phenology Stations where you can observe seasonal changes in plants. It’s a perfect spot for a walk, jog, or to contribute to citizen science with Nature’s Notebook.
👉 Join the Kemāmaceqtaq: We’re All Moving project and help build a healthier Menominee County/Nation—one step at a time.
