This week’s spotlight is Tricia, one of our amazing Hospice Aides at Summa Hospice! 🌟

Tricia has spent her entire adult life in the medical field, with much of that time working with Summa Health. She has been part of hospice care since 2008 and truly believes it’s where she is meant to be. She is proud of the work hospice teams do and the impact they have on the lives of patients and families.

Outside of work, Tricia enjoys spending time with her four children and three grandchildren, often cooking, taking road trips, visiting the lake, or traveling to Youngstown to see her mom. She says family means everything to her, which is why she strives to treat every patient like they’re part of her own.

This Women’s History Month, we recognize Mary Breckinridge, a pioneer who helped shape modern home health care in the United States.

In 1925, Breckinridge founded the Frontier Nursing Service in rural Kentucky, bringing trained nurses and midwives directly to families in their homes. At a time when access to healthcare was limited in many communities, she believed care should meet patients where they are — not the other way around.

Her innovative model focused on preventive care, maternal health, and community-based services delivered right in the home. The approach dramatically improved health outcomes for families in underserved areas and helped establish the foundation for modern home health services.

Today, the work of home health and hospice clinicians continues to reflect that same mission — delivering compassionate, skilled care where patients feel most comfortable.

This week’s spotlight is Holly from Beaumont Home Care! 🌟

Holly has been a nurse for 20 years, with experience in cardiac, neuro/trauma intensive care, pre- and post-operative care, and the operating room. She joined Beaumont Home Health four and a half years ago as a field nurse and later transitioned into the Clinical Field Staff Liaison role. She shares that she feels blessed to work alongside such amazing and caring clinicians and loves home care because it allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients and their families.

Outside of work, Holly is a proud mom of two and has been happily married for 15 years. Their home is also kept lively by their spunky cat, Chewi. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, volunteering at her children’s school, and spending time with family and friends.

We’re so grateful for Holly’s experience, compassion, and dedication to our patients and team! 💜
