⭐️Cerebral Palsy⭐️ is a common neuromotor 🧠 disorder that affects about 1/345 babies born in the U.S. 🇺🇸 according to the CDC! Symptoms 🧬 often vary depending on the type of CP and that individual- everyone is unique! 🌈
Some symptoms might result in people using a wheelchair or cane🧑‍🦼‍➡️, having some difficulty moving around or playing🤾🏽‍♀️, speaking differently or needing a device to help them speak 🗣️ ,or eating differently and needing someone to help them complete tasks 👯
These differences are part of what makes CP kids awesome ⚡️No matter what their symptoms are, people with CP can think,imagine, feel, and love just like anyone else 💖Understanding differences can make us better friends and advocates! 💜📝

Read below for some amazing AAC info to bring awareness during October 🧠🗣️🧩📲🧡

What is it ? AAC: Alternative and Augmentative Communication

Who uses it? Anybody! You don’t have to be nonverbal to benefit from a communication device!
Where can we use it? All the time! In school, at home, in public, anywhere!

When can we use it? All day every day! AAC offers a voice for those who might not have one of their own- any time you could use your voice, someone else could use their AAC!

How do we use it? AAC is used via a collection of labeled photos either on paper or on a device such as a tablet! There are many kinds of AAC including eye-gaze devices and speech generating devices! All forms of AAC can be effective and useful for communication!

Always remember : communication is a RIGHT not a PRIVILEGE! - everyone deserves a voice! 🧡
