When trauma enters our lives, it divides time into two clear chapters: before and after. We are no longer quite the same. We become a blend of who we were and who we’ve been shaped into since. I’ve seen this truth unfold both personally and professionally.
But there is something that's been even more life-altering for me, and that's been walking alongside someone as they move through their trauma. Bearing witness to that pain has profoundly shaped me as a professional and left me carrying voices and faces that never fade from memory.
Each year during this season, I think of those voices and faces. I pray that their “after” has been filled with healing and empowerment and that as they step into another year ahead, they can see the possibilities still waiting for them.

Winter solstice reminds me that even the longest night has an ending. 🌙
The darkness doesn’t win, it pauses. And from here on out, the light slowly returns.
There’s hope tucked into this turning point. Hope that what feels heavy won’t last forever. Hope that warmth, growth, and clarity are on their way, even if we can’t see them just yet. The days may lengthen quietly, almost unnoticed, but they do lengthen.
If you’re in a season that feels cold or still, let this be your reminder: change is already happening. The light is coming back. And so is hope.

Ok all, I could really use your help. 💛
My sweet grandmother is turning 90! She’s in an assisted living facility, and even though our family makes sure someone visits several times a week, she still gets lonely at times.

When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she told me she’d love for me to mail her a card...she absolutely lights up when she gets mail from loved ones.

So I had an idea…
I would love for her to receive birthday cards from all across the country. Her birthday is December 21, this Sunday. If you feel called to brighten her day, send me a message and I’ll give you her mailing address.

Thank you, truly, to anyone who takes a moment to send her a little love. It will mean more than I can put into words. 💛✨
