Blessed Gaudete Sunday💕

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say, rejoice. Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is nigh.” Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭4‬-‭5‬

Rejoice, friends. The coming of our Savior is near! Prepare your hearts and minds for His coming.

- Read through the Gospels. Have the Word of God written on your heart so that you are found ready when He comes.

- Go to confession. As we prepare for Christ’s coming in judgment, implore His mercy and ask for forgiveness. He desires to meet you in this Sacrament.

- Slow down. The busyness of the holiday season can pull our focus away from what really matters. Create moments of stillness throughout your day for prayer and reflection.

When the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego in 1531, Our Lady arranged for roses to bloom in off-season as proof. Though an even greater sign was to come. The imprint of Our Lady on Juan Diego’s tilma has incited the faith of many believers.

Rays from the sun, brighter near her womb, symbolize the deity of Christ. Clothed in blue, representing royalty. Her loose hair showed that she was a virgin, and yet the belt on her waist told of her pregnancy with Jesus.

The garment’s preservation is a miracle, and an ongoing symbol of unity and maternal love to us.

As an act of grace, the Most Holy Virgin Mary was kept free from all stains of original sin. We recognize that this was not through any of her doing, but came about as a free gift, through the merits of Jesus Christ her Son.

Her Immaculate Conception points us to Christ, Redeemer of the world. The grace of salvation was applied to Mary at the time of her conception, a gift to prepare her for the work she would do in bringing forth Christ.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
