My techniques when giving massage are based on a firm knowledge of anatomy (the study of the body's structure) and kinesiology (the science of movement). As each of us has a different personal history, every person receives a custom massage tailored to their specific needs on the day of the appointment. I have found that I receive the best bodywork when I am interacting with the therapist, and take an active role in listening to my body and communicating what it needs. I strongly encourage my clients to do the same, and this helps me to provide them with the best treatment possible.

This year I celebrated SamDay on Monday the 8th. It's hard to believe it's been 10 years she's been gone. I've extended SamDay into SamWeek this year. All money that I receive on SamDay goes to Maine Mountain Children's House, but I also am letting the rest of my clients know that this week I'll willingly accept extra $ and roll it into my donation :)
You might not know that this only 50% of this money turns into whatever the school needs it for. The other 50% turns into lessons in math, philanthropy, and civics. The children figure out how much money is 50% of the total, and that amount is then donated to another organization. Last year I was there when they picked - there were three choices of organizations to give back to. There was a global organization (the Nature Conservancy), a national organization (I forget...I think it had to do with cows or food supply or something...), and a local organization (the Webster Library). And there was a tie break! The national organization got removed, and there was a run-off vote! The library won by a close margin.

This is what's been going on in my other world! I submitted a design proposal back in March, and was one of 9 designers chosen to participate in the MJSA (national jewelry industry organization) 2023 Design Challenge. These earrings can convert to small earrings and two pendants! All the gems are fair trade and were donated by Columbia Gem House, Inc., along with the silver. All the design work, the 20 hours of labor to make these, and the 18k gold accents were donated by me (aka Carrabassett Valley Jewelry).
During the month of October these pieces are part of a fundraiser to raise money for the Centro de Rescate Rehabilitación e Investigación de Fauna Silvestre A.C. which was recommended by the pearl farm which produces the Cortez mabe pearls that are in the center of the design. Each of the 9 pieces have 100 tickets available at $25 each, so you could buy tickets to win my piece, or any of the others...until they are sold out. There is no limit on number of tickets you buy unless they are gone!
