For centuries, funerals have helped us say goodbye. No matter what kind of funeral ceremony you are planning, it helps to understand the parts of a meaningful funeral. Each element serves a unique purpose and plays an important role.

When you put the elements together, you create a ceremony deserving of the special life that was lived.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Lora Baker, one of our Funeral Assistants and Pre-need insurance specialist at Sanders.

Lora treasures time with family. Every Sunday, her home is filled with loved ones gathered for lunch, a tradition that allows everyone to slow down, reconnect, and share life together. She also has a deep love for gardening, a passion rooted in her upbringing on a farm in Omega, Oklahoma, and one that brings her joy in providing healthy food for her family.

Deeply involved in the Kingfisher community, Lora and her husband give back through their church and local outreach opportunities. Kingfisher is home to her, a place where she’s raised her family, built lifelong friendships, and witnessed a community that truly shows up for one another.

The most meaningful part of Lora’s work is guiding families through some of life’s most difficult moments. A family's trust is something she holds close to her heart. Her friends and family describe her as dedicated, compassionate, and meticulous. Qualities that define her work each day.

Lora hopes families leave Sanders feeling a sense of peace, knowing the weight has been lifted and their loved one has been cared for with dignity and respect.

This line of work has taught Lora never to take life for granted. Having experienced personal loss, she values every moment with loved ones and carries that perspective into how she cares for others, always guided by her mother’s example to treat people the way you would want to be treated.

We’re grateful to have Lora as part of the Sanders team and community.
