Halloween has been in full swing here at Asbury Place Independent Living! Our residents kicked off the festivities with a lively Halloween party featuring music from Dan Perkins, spooky good treats, and a round of Bloody Marys. The fun continued with a costume contest—congratulations to our winner, Joyce Skinner, who received a certificate for a 30-minute massage at our on-site salon!

We also gathered around the fire for ghost stories and, of course, toasted up some delicious s’mores. It’s been a wonderful day filled with laughter, creativity, and community spirit.

The fun isn’t over yet—tonight we’re welcoming our little trick-or-treaters at 5:30 for a sweet end to our Halloween celebrations! 🎃

🎃👻 What a fun-filled day here at Asbury Place Independent Living! This afternoon we got into the Halloween spirit with a spooky Jazzercise session that had everyone moving and grooving. 💃🕺

Afterward, we warmed up with a hot chocolate bar — big thanks to our wonderful dining team for the sweet treat! ☕🍫

We wrapped up the day with a few rounds of Blackout Chair Volleyball, and let’s just say the competition was frightfully fun! 🏐🕷️

Tonight we celebrated Oktoberfest,a birthday and a small family reunion. The house was packed from wall to wall, family and friends came together. Thanks to everyone who came out tonight. We look forward to next months Friendsgiving with family and friends.

Our competitive chair volleyball team had a fantastic match at the Kingsport YMCA, facing off against another talented local team! It was a great afternoon filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. We’re so proud of our players for their energy, spirit, and sportsmanship—way to go, team! 🏐👏

We had a wonderful Fall Open House today at our Independent Living community! Guests enjoyed delicious refreshments from our dining team (including their famous sugar cookies!), lovely harp music by Martha Painter, and plenty of great take-home goodies. It was such a joy welcoming so many visitors and sharing what it means to live colorfully at Asbury!🍂
