Lung cancer screening can save lives, but many people aren’t sure who qualifies or what to expect.

Join a free, brief online information session with GO2 for Lung Cancer to learn the essentials:
• Who should consider screening
• What happens during the exam
• Why early detection matters

These sessions are offered multiple times each week now through May 1, making it easy to attend from anywhere. Lung cancer screening is quick, painless, and designed to detect cancer early, when treatment is most effective.

💚 March is National Kidney Month 💚
Kidney health plays a vital role in overall wellness, and small daily habits can help reduce the risk of kidney disease.

The National Kidney Foundation recommends:
✅ Staying hydrated
✅ Eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly
✅ Managing blood pressure and blood sugar
✅ Quitting smoking or seeking support to stop
✅ Reducing salt intake
✅ Limiting NSAIDs like ibuprofen and naproxen

Routine checkups are also important. Annual physicals and lab work, such as blood and urine tests, can help monitor kidney health and catch issues early.

For individuals living with chronic kidney disease, the HealthAlliance Dialysis Center offers education and support, including access to a clinical dietitian and renal educator.

John thought his chest pain was heartburn. It wasn't.

When John collapsed at his neighbor's door, every second mattered. Thanks to the rapid response of local emergency responders and the expert cardiac team at HealthAlliance Hospital, those critical moments turned into a second chance.

Today, John is back where he belongs, home with his family, filling the house with music once again.

Hear John's story, and interventional cardiologist Dr. Falak Shah, explain a "widow maker" heart attack.

Don't ignore the signs. Your heart may be trying to tell you something.

We’re incredibly grateful to share that the FY26 Agriculture Appropriations bill has been signed into law — including $619,000 secured for Margaretville Hospital’s Primary Care Renovation Project!

Thanks to the leadership and dedication of Senator Chuck Schumer, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Josh Riley this critical investment will help us modernize and enhance primary care services for our community.

Thank you to Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Representative Riley for your commitment to rural healthcare ensuring our patients and families can access high-quality care close to home.

Heart health is about more than a single test or moment in time.

Your cardiovascular health is shaped by lifestyle, mental health, and the care you receive whether a condition is common or rare.

Through WMCHealth’s Cardiovascular Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Program (CHPDP), patients have access to
preventive screenings, smoking cessation support, behavioral health resources, and therapies that address the full picture of heart
health.

Because caring for your heart means caring for the whole you.

🚁 A Lifesaving Milestone for Margaretville

Big news for our community in Margaretville, NY 💙

Margaretville Hospital, a member of Westchester Medical Center Health Network, has received a $200,000 grant from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, completing the funding needed to build a new on-campus helipad.

This critical infrastructure project will help ensure that geography is never a barrier to lifesaving care.

For residents of our geographically isolated region, the helipad will serve as a direct link to major trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergency services. By allowing patients to be airlifted directly from the hospital campus, we can significantly reduce delays during time-sensitive emergencies, improving outcomes and advancing health equity for our community.

“This helipad project is an investment in patient-centered care,” said Michael Hochman, Executive Director. “It allows us to move quickly, which can mean the difference between life and death.”

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

We are deeply grateful to the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and our community partners for helping strengthen essential systems of care and ensuring high-quality, compassionate treatment remains close to home.

Because every minute matters. And every community deserves access. 💙🚁

At HealthAlliance Hospital, caring for our community goes beyond hospital walls.

Our Heart and Vascular Institute was proud to partner with The Pointe NY for a recent Blood Pressure Clinic. By bringing screenings and education directly to the community, we’re working to ensure every neighbor has the tools they need for a healthy heart. 💙

We are grateful for the leadership of Kathy Bermo, DNP (Regional Director of Cardiovascular Services) and Jonathan Villano (Manager of Non-Invasive Cardiology) in making this event a success.

Your heart has a story. It’s important to listen.

John thought his chest pain was heartburn. It wasn’t.

After collapsing at his neighbor’s door, emergency responders and the cardiac team at HealthAlliance Hospital acted quickly to treat a complete blockage often referred to as the “widow maker.”

Today, John is home with his family, including his new grandson, Sebastian, because expert cardiac care was available close to home when he needed it most.

Don’t ignore the signs. Your heart may be trying to tell you something.
