Take immediate action. Everyone has flaws and falls short of perfection. No one is flawless. Prior to applying for LPN/RN classes, verify your criminal background. If eligible, consider pursuing pardon or expungement to clear your record. Your past may hinder your progress.

In other words, stay out of trouble! Call the law for any trouble that might cause you your future.

Why Choose a Career as a Medical Assistant? Your CCMA Certification Can Lead to More Than Just a Single Job Title.. Let's Explore Your Options.

One thing we really want students and fellow MAs to know is this: your certification can open more doors than you may realize. “Medical Assistant” is often the starting point, not the end goal.

We put together this list because many jobs don’t always say CCMA required in the title, but your certification and skill set can absolutely help qualify you for them. Some roles may require experience, employer training, or may be state-specific (like IV certification), but we wanted to show just how many directions this field can take you.

💉 Clinical Roles:
Phlebotomist, EKG Technician, Patient Care Technician, ER Tech, Dialysis Technician, Sterile Processing Tech, Endoscopy Tech, Orthopedic Tech, Ophthalmic Tech, Wound Care Tech, Dermatology Tech, Cardiology Tech, Newborn Screener, Travel MA, Radiology MA, OBGYN MA, Multi Specialty MA, and more.

💻 Remote & Telehealth Roles (Yes, these exist!)
This is something many students don’t realize. Your background may help you transition into roles such as:
• Remote Medical Assistant
• Telehealth Coordinator
• Remote Patient Monitoring Technician
• Medical Scribe
• Clinical Documentation Specialist
• Virtual Patient Educator
• Prior Authorization Specialist
• Insurance Claims Processor
• Telephonic Triage Support
• Medical Customer Support
• Healthcare Data/EHR Support

There are real work-from-home opportunities in healthcare. You may have to search beyond “medical assistant” in job titles, but they’re out there.

🩺 Navigator & Coordinator Roles
These are some of the most overlooked opportunities:
• Patient Care Navigator
• Healthcare Navigator
• Care Coordinator
• Patient Advocate
• Community Health Worker
• Referral Coordinator
• Clinical Research Coordinator
• Case Manager Support Roles
• Women’s Health Coordinator
• Transplant Coordinator Assistant
• Utilization Review Coordinator

These roles can be incredibly rewarding if you enjoy education, communication, and helping patients move through the healthcare system.

🚀 Other Career Paths to Consider:
Medical Office Management
Clinical Research
Medical Device Support
Public Health Roles
Specialty Clinics (OB/GYN, Ortho, Derm, Fertility, Pain Management, etc.)
Instructor/Educator roles

And for some… this certification becomes a stepping stone into even bigger things.

Don’t underestimate what your certification can do.

You are not limited to one job title. There are options. There is growth. There are paths many people never tell MAs about.

We wanted to share this because we want you to know your credential has value beyond what you may have been told.
