Over winter break, I had the privilege of traveling to Punjab and visiting nearly 20 gurdwaras and historical sites of deep significance to the Sikh faith. While at Darbar Sahib, I prayed for the safety and health of all of humanity—especially for those living with serious and persistent mental illness.
As the new year begins and I slowly return to my routine, I’ve received many “thank yous” from clients for being on this journey with them. But truly, they are the ones who deserve the thanks. It is an honor when someone chooses to work with me. I take the responsibility of holding and influencing someone’s innermost thoughts very seriously, and that responsibility is grounded in how deeply the Social Work profession aligns with my spiritual values.
Sikhs have stood on the right side of justice for centuries—fighting for religious freedom, dismantling caste systems, protecting marginalized communities, and uplifting women. As your therapist, I feel it is my moral obligation to do the same: to fight for you, empower you, teach you tools for self-preservation, and uplift you.
Being a therapist isn’t just a job to me—it is my spiritual calling. Thank you, from the deepest parts of myself, for allowing me to walk alongside you on your journey.
Happy New Year ✨
