Freestanding birth center in Kirkland, WA Puget Sound Midwives & Birth Center provides quality midwifery care during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Each appointment leaves plenty of time for questions and for you to get to know the people who will be attending your birth. Our birth suites are luxurious yet comfortable, with queen beds, couches, and deep soaking tubs to sooth your labor. Our facilities in Kirkland and Renton are covered by almost all insurance. What a way to usher in the New Year. Our first babe of the year came into the world peacefully in water. His momma showed incredible strength and midwife Courtney was there to guide the process. Congratulations! 🥂🤍

Today we are honoring an incredible midwife who was dedicated 30 years to supporting families, empowering parents, and welcoming countless babies into the world here at Puget Sound Birth Center. For three decades, her steady hands, calm presence and deep wisdom have made a lasting impact through long nights, joyful first cries and life-changing moments. Her commitment to safe, respectful, and heart centered care is nothing short of inspiring.
Heike started Eastside Midwives 30 years ago. She hasn’t done it alone. There have been many AMAZING midwives along the way. Through the many challenges of owning a midwifery practice she has stayed constant and vigilant to supporting women.
We are so honored to walk alongside her. Congratulations Heike!!! 🎉🥂🤍

Did you know that some insurance plans (like Kaiser) require a preauthorization to pay for your birth? If your insurance has changed, please notify us ASAP so that we can get you a new estimate and make sure that everything is all set for you!

Happy New Year's Eve! What a beautiful year this has been. The year isn't quite over (and several people are flirting with labor) so we can't give you our exact numbers yet!
Our hearts are full. We are endlessly thankful for the families who walk through our doors and allow us to be part of their birth stories. Each family, each baby, and each journey helps shape our birth center into the warm, supportive community it is. Thank you for growing with us 🤍
