As we approach the peak of the holiday season, here are some helpful reminders to make your get-togethers as smooth and sensory friendly as possible!
1. Pack your/your child’s go-to activities that help regulate.
2. Bring safe foods in case there is an aversion to the meals being served.
3. Talk through the plan ahead of time - who will be there, the timeline of the day, etc.
4. Be prepared to say quick goodbyes if needed! Maybe you stay two hours or maybe 45 minutes. Both are ok!

As the leaves turn and a season of gratitude settles upon us, I want to take a moment to wish our wonderful Washington Autism Alliance - WAA community a truly Happy Thanksgiving.

This holiday always brings to mind how much we have to be thankful for—the incredible resilience I see in our families every day, the passion of our advocates, and our shared hope for a future where autistic loved ones can truly flourish.
