Discipline is not punishment. Discipline is when one uses reason to determine the best course of action regardless of one's desires or emotions.

Discipline provides people with rules to live their lives efficiently and effectively. Discipline creates habits, habits make routines, and routines become who you are daily.

Today + Today + Today = Your Life.

It's so important to create discipline for your children, but how can you expect to do that without first establishing and practicing self-discipline?

Appropriately asking for help is not a weakness. It's actually a sign of emotional intelligence to not allow your pride and ego to interfere.

It's an excellent idea to encourage our children to try something new on their own, but only if they know how and when to ask for help appropriately.

Just think of all the unpleasant situations you and your children can avoid if you acquire, teach, and practice this essential life skill in your family.

Young Adulthood is an INCREDIBLY difficult period of time for families to navigate. Often times, parents put so much energy into all the wrong places, and young adults shut down, isolate, withdrawal, and sometimes self-medicate.

A family therapist can help parents create clear expectations, incentives, and consequences, and help prioritize the correct areas to place all of their energy.
