I wanted to share this with you!
Here is my hibiscus plant. It has a beautiful red flower on it today.
But something you might not know about it is that about 8 months ago, the plant was under a major stress.
We were in the middle of kitchen renovations so it was moved with all our stuff to the basement in front of the back door. Well, I forgot to water it for who knows how long. Luckily, my mom saw it and told me about it. I started watering it, fertilizing it, and moved it outside when temps were good for this tropical plant. Toward the end of the summer it still had not flowered. I was sad and wondered if I had hurt it so bad that it wouldn’t flower/reproduce.
So I did some googling. If a plant goes through a major stress then it will take months to restore itself until it has healed and stored enough energy to reproduce.
This is much like humans too! If we are under stress- physical, chemical/nutritional, or emotional, our bodies will save energy for the organs that are needed to survive and and take from the reproductive organs. This restoring process can take many months to a year, depending on how depleted the couple is.
So if you have been trying to conceive or have had miscarriages, maybe your body is begging you to find the source of the stress and refuel the system.
This is where we come in at 1st Step Family Wellness. We help to identify the stressors on the body. We help you reduce or remove them. AND help you refuel your body. This is key in all aspects of life, but definitely for fertility. AND it takes 2 to make a baby.
