A time to shine a spotlight on Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) and how it truly empowers children and individuals to express themselves.

Many people think communication is only talking — but AAC is so much more. It includes gestures, picture boards, apps, devices, writing, and more — all tools that support or replace speech when it’s difficult or impossible.

When introduced early, AAC can enrich vocabulary, support literacy, and strengthen social connections.

It’s not about replacing speech — it’s about giving voice.

October is ADHD Awareness Month

What is ADHD? 🤔

According to CDC, people with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking about what the result will be), or be overly active.

Although ADHD can’t be cured, it can be successfully managed and some symptoms may improve as the child ages.

If you are concerned about whether a child might have ADHD, the first step is to talk with a healthcare provider to find out if the symptoms fit the diagnosis.
