I am slowly adjusting to my new fabric storage and what bin everything is in. I love my new studio and am grateful beyond measure for it and my understanding wife (whom isnt a quilter, yet). 34 cubes, 5 short shelves, 1 tall shelf, and a wire rack shelf for ufo's (out of sight, to help keep me focused).

Lesson learned is the topic. If i could offer you one piece of advise, this would be it... do not be so hard on yourself, handmade items arent meant to be perfect, they are meant to be heartfelt, which quilts are. Photo for attention (yes there are 2 of the same fabrics touching), and to prove the quilt police will get beat up if they try writing me a ticket. (Heroes Comfort with my Path to Freedom line and Starburst with my Patriots Choice line) all by Timeless Treasures Fabrics .

I am very thankful for my garment friends, and Ann for helping me make these 2 smokers jackets. Now time to make a new one... what fabric line will it be?

I quilt, because it does many things for my well being. It takes me away from all the "things" in my brain (ptsd, depression) and allows me to create something, which in turn does a bunch of chemical things in my brain. Quilting gives me purpose. As a combat veteran, I know the healing power of a quilt, so I try to give that same safe place (a quilt can turn into a fort, a cape, or feel like a hug).

Ofcourse I missed posting yesterday because I was busy teaching a quilted jacket class. So, if you are new here, I am Andrew, aka The CombatQuilter. A veteran who uses quilting as my therapy. I am a long armer, a fabric designer (thanks to Timeless Treasures Fabrics ) and a quilt maker. I am trying to be a light to the world, and make a difference, somehow, someway.
