… for more than birth! There’s a lot more to achieving painfree, enjoyable intimacy than dilators. They are a great tool, but now that I’m actually looking at if a woman can comfortably be in the positions she wants to be in like you see me here with the peanut ball and bolsters, and then breaking down what needs to change so she CAN, has gone a long way in helping my clients have not just one position they actually love, but multiple! Last photo is both an adductor stretch and low back stretch (janu sirsasana) while sitting on a bolster pillow that I have given to a few patients lately as homework (based on their individual challenges, of course) as we work toward their painfree and enjoyable intimacy goals. Wow, how time flies and graduation day comes up! I’ve had the privilege and honor of working with this Amazing woman for this past year (50 weeks!!), getting her through her third pregnancy, and recovery from it. It’s been so rewarding to make her third pregnancy far less painful and debilitating than her second, and to bring her back to joyful, happy movement and build an understanding of how to take care of her body. She did the real work, I was just a pelvic floor Sherpa and a little bit of a nag 😂. I’m so grateful that she trusted me! God is good!

! With .healing.arts ! Since I work on my feet and am lifting legs or literally lunging back and forth sometimes (sometimes ya gotta work to help ) I like to try to unweight my hips and spine a couple times a day. Here you see my own version of Happy Baby yoga pose, and me using my treatment table to support some upper body weight in a Wide leg forward fold (feet about 2-3 times hip width). Doing stuff like this throughout the day really does add up and keep me hurting. (And both of these are loved by my and patients too). I if I have a few extra busy days and forget to take LITERALLY 60 s for myself a few times, I will be hurting at the end of the week. So, I’ve learned that I too must try to do some homework throughout the day. Do you do anything like this? Tag us, we’d love to see!! And, keep our selfcare workshop in mind on Feb. 24th!!

I’m excited for February! I was officemates with Evelyn .healing.arts for several years, but we never did any workshops or events together, until now that she has her own studio!! At the end of February, we are going to be doing an afternoon workshop of selfcare and self-massage for working out hip, back, and pelvic kinks! We both are moms and pretty much do manual labor every day as a pelvic physical therapist (me) and a massage therapist (Evelyn), so we each have go-to techniques we do on ourselves so we can keep mom-ing and treating our clients at full speed! Keep an eye out for more info on this and some prequels!

Hoping to see some ladies out here in tomorrow! At 8:50 I will be at Sam Duff Park, on the side by the tennis courts. Message me if you aren’t certain if it’s right for you, & if you want to come but don’t feel ready- we will be here Tuesdays all summer, so join us when you can! Its nice and flat, and the loop is a quarter mile, with some shade on part of it. Walk as much or as little as you like, mama, because we are in this together!
