Great article with a simple message "the government must do better." There are too many wonderful people who work for IHS to mention but like all great purpose driven employees if their employer would fully enable them then IHS would be a world leader in providing healthcare. I do not want to down play the tremendous obstacles IHS overcomes on a daily basis to deliver healthcare but the government openly admits it underfunds IHS. This burden falls on elected officials to do better and uphold the treaties elected officials approved. It always leads me to the question, "How much was the land traded for worth?"

The 2-1 decision from the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a South Dakota District Court decision from last year.

I was scheduled to be on the Rez March 18th before any cases were reported. I did not go. I did not want to take the chance of bringing the virus with me. Sad story about an amazing place.

The fear of what's ahead is based on precedent. During the swine flu epidemic of 2009, Native Americans died at four to five times the rate of other Americans.
