I’m starting something new this week! As a bit of a logophile, I have decided to pick out some meaningful words to ponder on each week…and to share with my dear friends here on the Facebook. So here’s the word for this week.

I slacked off making my nature mandalas during the last half of summer, but in September I started making more time for making art in nature. These are some of the fruits of my labor. Enjoy, and spend some mindful time in nature yourself!

Summer at our new haven in the woods has been magical. I kind of wish I would have made more mandalas, but I was busy trying to soak up each moment in the sun and woods and water! The huge variety of mushrooms on the property has fascinated me and I am yearning to learn more about them. I discovered that we have a pear tree in our yard and harvested a few delicious pears. We also have quite a few blackberry bushes around the cabin that I was able to snack from throughout the summer. I’ve never been more enthralled with nature on a daily basis, and I’m looking forward to the delights of fall!

The beautiful month of May has brought me the opportunity to visit new parks and natural areas and make more colorful nature mandalas! I love finding new spots and connecting with nature in this way!

Happy Earth Day! Here is a special Earth Day mandala that I made with some new wildflowers that I found! Get outside today, appreciate the beauty of nature, and do something good for the earth!

Lately, it’s been such lovely weather to get out in nature and make mandalas! I’ve been enjoying spotting some beautiful wildflowers and tiny little baby trees and ferns out in the woods around our cabin!

I’m finally making nature mandalas again! I went through a rough period this past fall and winter, from a major health crisis to a move and job hunt. The weather also kept me from this beloved practice of mine. But now…spring is here and things are looking a little brighter. I’m enjoying getting out more, especially in the area around my cabin. There are lots of nature treasures to find, and I enjoy creating with them. So, here are some of my most recent mandalas. Look for more to come as the spring progresses!

This week has been lovely and warm, and I have been thrilled to get out and discover some new natural spaces. It’s nice to be able to explore our new area, and even nicer that we have a trail down to a creek and little waterfall on the property where we live. I took the kids down to our little waterfall yesterday to paint rocks, and I’m looking forward to some camping and water play there later in the spring and summer. Oh…and of course I made a couple of nature mandalas recently.

Winter Update Post 2: Moving to rural Sparta has been quite an adjustment. However, despite the inconvenience of being removed much of civilization 😆, it’s been fun to explore the 3 little towns that are closest to us: Sparta, Crossville, and Cookeville. We have found some cute little local spots that we will continually visit. We also ventured out to Nashville one weekend, where we discovered an awesome greenhouse restaurant! I’ve also continued to make trips to Knoxville for doctor appointments and, of course, monthly sound baths at the Sacred Owl. It’s certainly been an eventful winter.

Winter Update Part 1: You may have noticed that it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted to social media. Well, I truly feel like I’ve been hibernating this winter. It’s been both a challenging and beautiful few months. Our cabin has absolutely been a bright spot. We all love living here. It is gorgeous in the snow. We have also had some real struggles since we’ve been here, and my health is still not 💯. Changing providers and adjusting to a new place and new job has been exhausting, but I’ve also met some great people. We’ve also found some fun places for the kids to play. And… I shall save the rest for the next update for the next post.
