At The Spirit Horse Ranch — Updates:
Good news is The Spirit Horse Program open to all Maui County residents has been able to secure grants to keep our program available for the time being!! Thank You to Maui United Way and Hawaii Community Foundation! As we know this is a long haul so we continue to seek funding for the long term.

NEEDS: We are currently working to secure transportation for the impact zone survivors, many are still being moved weekly and vehicles are not available to everyone, we are aiming to be able to group together individuals to come up together for the sessions. We can do sessions up to 6 - 8 per session. We do have cold drinks and snacks for the clients too
***If anyone has ideas or can help direct us, as buying a van and getting a commercial licence is not on the agenda for us at this time we appreciate any ideas.

As time moves forward there are more and more clients finding out about equine therapy and we are staying very busy. 131 clients have been served in sessions since August 11th.
Many require multiple sessions so preparing for long term is essential, to provide much needed care.

NEEDS: We are also looking to hire more horse handlers - requires experience with horses and we can train them per program. If they are a good fit we will be have an employee certification for new facilitators interested in making equine therapy a career this will be in Dec 2023.

NEEDS I am also looking for someone who is familiar with survey monkey or google survey so that we can see how we are doing and provide updates to our supporters as it has been a month since we began serving the fire trauma response program.

NEEDS: with 15 horses FEED is a huge expense for us some are seniors and require supplements.

NEEDS: we provide drinks and snacks due our clients. Some are living on limited supplies right now and we like them to take food with them.

Our sister program - The Spirit Horse Ranch. A place of healing and new beginnings. Our free sessions can now be booked online. Recognizing the aftermath and challenges posed by Maui’s recent disaster we understand the urgency to offer support to the entire community. Through Equine-assisted Trauma Informed Care therapy, we aim to address trauma in a holistic manner, integrating both emotional and physiological aspects of healing.
Our program provides evidence-based equine-assisted interventions that foster healing, resilience, and emotional well-being, and grief support specifically during this time to those who have suffered from this traumatic experience on Maui.

So happy we made the adventure down to the shelter in town. We were able to give about an hours worth of time and hopefully bring a few good moments of love and awe, healing and a tiny bit of joy, hoping that the children will dream of ponies 🐎 tonight instead of nightmares. And a lot of adults too ❤️ We also were able to visit some of the healthcare workers, volunteers massage therapists and a therapist❤️everyone just needed to hug her and brush her for a few minutes ❤️Princess Pawnee was a huge hit she is an angel🙏🏻❤️💕

Good morning. We are open and all services are
Free to everyone. We are actively seeing individuals for therapy over the past few days, it’s such a blessing to see how the horses just know what and who needs the help🙏🏻🐎 individuals come worn down and leave calm and more resilient with a bit of hope it’s such a grounding experience, today we are trying to get to the shelter in town and set up with Princess Pawnee to offer support services there. And in the coming days we will be seeing more organizing efforts to bring people out who don’t have vehicles Anyone interested in helping who has a transportation or horse handling experience reach out please we are going to need more people we will train w you and we are comprising a list for the coming weeks

Aloha Everyone, we are beginning to see things come together to help those who have been affected by the destructive fires in Lahaina, and Kula and for those who have lost and are missing loved ones, their homes and possessions have been lost forever. At a meeting this morning all non-profits on Maui were asked to step up and help in any way that we can. Maui is going to face severe challenges. Grief, loss, despair and morning.
We are here to help our loving horses are here to help💗

To do our part and contribute our Ohana, Spirit Horse Ranch and Healing Hearts Team is opening our Equine Assisted Trauma Informed Care Services Facility to help ANYONE OF ANY AGE who has been devastated by the fires, the trauma has affected EVERYONE and our island is in shock and grieving and we are available to help during this time. The first responders and mental health professionals are maxed at this time and we can help. These services are FREE so please reach out we know everyone is reeling and hurting.
